The entire world would sanction Israel like the former apartheid states Rhodesia and South Africa were sanctioned, were it not for the U.S. UN veto keeping the world at bay.

Who would have guessed that Israel would adopt the same brutal tactics that Hitler's forces used against European Jews, back in the day?

It never takes long for legitimate criticism of Israeli policies to revert to antisemitism. That is why America supports Israel so strongly. It is because if you scrape the surface of most criticism you always find antisemitism. It would be better to objectively criticize bad policy than to spew antisemitism, and maybe those bad policies could be changed by fair criticism.

BTW, I agree that opposition to Israel's overt genocide of the Palestinians is NOT ANTI-SEMITIC. Plenty of Jews in the US are in agreement with both of us. Many in Israel's power structure are NOT SEMITES; they are Russian Ashkenazis. When they moved to Israel in the '90's, they displaced the Palestinians economically. Netanyahu is Romanian. This article was written long before the latest slaughter in Gaza. One of the few changes since then has been President Obama's shift away from blanket support of Israelis. This could lead to UN sanctions against Israel, should the US choose to withdraw that support.

The Horrors of WWII antisemitism have bestowed horrors on the people who lived in Israel co-existing with Jews and Christians for a thousand years.  People lived in relative peace.  However, the peace existed because Muslims were in control.  When the United Nations, England, and America basically created the state of Israel, it was certain that Muslim control would not continue and conflict would follow.  It did.  The Israelis in protecting their existence have done unjust things to the people who occupied the area, and all the nation states in the region at one time or another actively were at war with Israel.  

If America would take half of our foreign aid to Israel, and put the same kind of investment as Afghanastan and Iraq, new ports could be developed, new water, sanitary, factories, roads, agriculture, and trade could be developed which enhance original occupants and the new state of Israel.  Economic development with no strings attached which showed the region that America was done exporting weapons for profits for the MIC, but was willing to bet on economic development and attack poverty and unemployment.  Our investments in Israel should be joint ventures which enhance employment for all occupants of the middle east.

The first step is to stop the military aid by half.  The second step is to quit fighting over the immovable, and concentrate on the doable......joint economic development which benefits both parties.  As an alleged Christian nation, we cannot stand by and see people put into a ghetto where civilians are killed.  We must diplomatically work with those who back terrorism and let them know we will be honest brokers for lasting peace.  There is no room for antisemitism or categorizing every Muslim as a terrorist.  We can use our brains.

Says the man who fails to report how Muslims keep control of people. ISIS would be a good example. Why would Israel give back to the Muslims, areas that are known avenues of attack? Care to answer? Have we given back any land that we took from Native Americans? The British? The French? The Spanish? I am specifically referring to here on the CONUS. We have put into Afghanistan and Iraq the same amounts of money, but your POTUS decided to withdraw. The only thing a farmer in Astan wants is to participate in the opium trade. They don't care to grow enough food for subsistence or anything else. I'm sure you would like Iraq to go back to the days of Saddam where during his reign his gassed his own people with nerve and choking agent at Halabja.

ISIS is the creation of Israel and Saudi Arabia to destroy the nation state of Syria who is supported by Iran. ISIS has not attacked Israel. Why?

I said nothing about giving back territories. Nothing. That is a point of contention which cannot be solved at this time. What can be solved is helping the economic conditions with improved ports, irrigation for agriculture, new desalization plants, sanitary sewers, and water infrastructure. Improved electric grid, an airport and a creation of a free trade zone for manufacturers who locate in the zone and hire both sides of this conflict.

We are being dictated to about the immoveable while ignoring the doable. We can stop the military aid to the region by half and make real Marshall Plan economic investment in Israel, Jordan, and Gaza. Stupid has not worked. Diplomacy and real economic opportunity make all participants shareholders in peace. Antisemitism, or Muslim hate does not solve economic issues. The people of the middle east have been ripped off by colonialism, corrupt puppet governments, monarchies, and military Juntas who have left the people of the middle east in abject poverty and those in the oligarchy manipulate the arab Israeli conflict to maintain power over the people. We need peace and real change for the people of the region.

Obama actually aided them as the "moderates" in syria. There're even sources that say the arms were run thru libya.

The al qaida in libya were certainly armed with us missiles. The red cross and english had evacuated.

We (the sos) were certainly aware of the danger. I suspect that she regarded them as she does us...expendable.

American foreign policy for thirty years has been in lockstep with Israel as to the destruction of the nation state of Syria and the current regime and the regime of his father. This is not rocket science. America never was about saving Syria.....it was only when it became so obvious that Israel and Saudi Arabia were backing ISIS that America put the brakes on......we were played.

What has happened to the Syrian people is horrific and a tragedy which has certain strategic goals for Israel. In 1973 when the Arabs launched a preemptive strike on Israel, they came within 24 hours of winning that war but for the massive movement of tanks to Israel from America. They lost 150 tanks in the Sinai the first two days and the Syrians had nothing stopping them from sweeping down from the Golan heights to the sea when assets were moved to the Sinai, not knowing how dire Israeli defenses were. So Israel began a strategic campaign to destroy the nation states which threatened their security. This is a real world logical defensive position, but the reality is what has happened in Syria is criminal. War crimes and huge civilian loses have let loose a human wave of immigrants who are trying to find safety in Europe.

We must speak the truth. America and Israel had no problem letting the civil war intensify and destroy the nation state of Syria. Innocents are dying and our hands are in this mess. The Saudis and Israel funded ISIS to seal the deal and destroy the nation state supported by Iran. We have our usual suspects on this forum trying to make ISIS the biggest challenge in the middle east. The truth is that we need to shut down the civil war in Syria. The Kurds, Turks, Sunni, and nation states of Israel and Saudi Arabia all have much to gain by the continued war in Syria. It is time for America to take the lead and work with the United Nations to get a cease fire and work for diplomatic regime change. Isis will die when Israel and the Saudis stop supporting the same.

Bibi keeps foaming at the mouth over how Iran might be (but yet to be confirmed) developing a nuclear bomb. Forget about Iran....

Pakistan is already there, and they recently tested a missile that can reach all the way to the middle of the Mediterranean Sea. Their new Shaheen III IRBM is nuclear capable and can reach out 1,700 miles. Jerusalem is well within range of Pakistani nukes. However, Pakistan is way out of reach of the IDF.

Plus, there is a report out that says Pakistan is building warheads as fast as they can make plutonium, and 5 years from now, they could be just behind the U.S. and Russia in the number of warheads possessed.

Have you noticed Gaza was given to the Palestinians and all it has become is a launching pad for rockets and a place to dig tunnels that terrorists sneak through to attack Israelies. GAza was a desert in bloom with Israel running it, now it has become a slum.
