A total of 111 people were killed by police in the United States in March of 2015. Since 1900, in the entire United Kingdom, 52 people have been killed by police.

Yeah. Those numbers are real.
A total of 111 people were killed by police in the United States in March of 2015. Since 1900, in the entire United Kingdom, 52 people have been killed by police.
Don't bother adjusting for population differences, or poverty, or mental illness, or anything else. The sheer fact that American police kill TWICE as many people per month as police have killed in the modern history of the United Kingdom is sick, preposterous, and alarming.

If we do not shrink our criminal justice system, it will consume us.

And still, Great Britain, along with about 10 other European countries have far higher violent crime rates.

How does that happen?

.
It doesn't. I pointed out your lie repeatedly. The European stats include burglary/theft which is not a violent crime in American crime stats. Apple and orange comparison. Try indisputable crime stats.....those who are killed in a crime.......how is that working comparing apples to apples. Mr. Markle......you and your handlers must think people are unable to cut through your sophomoric propaganda......come on......try to keep it real.

Sophomoric is an understatement. It is getting worse by the day, too.

The most violent country in Europe: Britain is also worse than South Africa and U.S.
By James Slack
UPDATED:18:14 EST, 2 July 2009

Britain's violent crime record is worse than any other country in the European union, it has been revealed.

Official crime figures show the UK also has a worse rate for all types of violence than the U.S. and even South Africa - widely considered one of the world's most dangerous countries.

The figures comes on the day new Home Secretary Alan Johnson makes his first major speech on crime, promising to be tough on loutish behaviour.

The U.S. has a violence rate of 466 crimes per 100,000 residents, Canada 935, Australia 92 and South Africa 1,609.

Shadow Home Secretary Chris Grayling said: 'This is a damning indictment of this government's comprehensive failure over more than a decade to tackle the deep rooted social problems in our society, and the knock on effect on crime and anti-social behaviour.

A liar who uses skewed statistics which try to include property crimes as violent crimes is simply an evil person. Here are the real stats.

Burglary is not a violent crime and only a person who was driven to school on the small bus would not recognize the manipulation of burglary rates which are high in England as violent crime. No reporting agency in the world considers burglary a violent crime and this propaganda piece again expects people to be stupid, and create the political agenda of lies through manipulation of data.

To help you a little bit.....here is a simple definition of burglary:
entry into a building illegally with intent to commit a crime, especially theft.

Theft.....do you understand that theft is nowhere in the world considered a violent crime.

Now the violent crime of robbery:
Robbery. The taking of money or goods in the possession of another, from his or her person or immediate presence, by force or intimidation.

Such lack of sophistication in the use of propaganda is in direct proportion to the desperation of the political positions that some try to mask. Liar Liar pants on fire.

I used nothing of the sort.

Your "statistics" for the vast majority of their comparisons compared raw numbers with raw numbers. Please make these adjustments.

Our population is five times that of United Kingdom.

I also saw no category for rape, assault or robbery.

more importantly, the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reports defines a “violent crime” as one of four specific offenses: murder and nonnegligent manslaughter, forcible rape, robbery, and aggravated assault.

The British Home Office, by contrast, has a substantially different definition of violent crime. The British definition includes all “crimes against the person,” including simple assaults, all robberies, and all “sexual offenses,” as opposed to the FBI, which only counts aggravated assaults and “forcible rapes.”

When you look at how this changes the meaning of “violent crime,” it becomes clear how misleading it is to compare rates of violent crime in the US and the UK. You’re simply comparing two different sets of crimes. In 2009/10, for instance (annual data is from September to September), British police recorded 871,712 crimes against persons, 54,509 sexual offenses, and 75,101 robberies in England and Wales. Based on the 2010 population of 55.6 million, this gives a staggeringly high violent crime rate of 1,797 offenses per 100,00 people.

argument here is disingenuous, factually inaccurate, and fundamentally flawed. At best, he is giving gun enthusiasts bad reasons to support the Second Amendment when perfectly good reasons are already available. By spreading myths, distorting data, and exaggerating the case, lies are doing libertarians and Second Amendment advocates a disservice.

To put it another way......there is no reason to lie.
