WASHINGTON (AP) -- The IRS says it has lost emails from five more workers who are part of congressional investigations into the treatment of conservative groups that applied for tax exempt status.

The tax agency said in June that it could not locate an untold number of emails to and from Lois Lerner, who headed the IRS division that processes applications for tax-exempt status. The revelation set off a new round of investigations and congressional hearings.

On Friday, the IRS said it has also lost emails from five other employees related to the probe, including two agents who worked in a Cincinnati office processing applications for tax-exempt status.

The agency blamed computer crashes for the lost emails. In a statement, the IRS said it found no evidence that anyone deliberately destroyed evidence.

Pk.....where are the forensic experts and the subpoenas to turn those computers over to the same.........until there is forensic proof of wrong doing it seems that the headlines accomplish the goal of the non investigation. Conclusions without facts are the goal, and the truth has never been the goal. It has become political theater.

left or right......how about a simple REAL investigation. Political theater keeps you entertained, and it is designed for a certain audience, and just like my grandchildren are thrilled about Frozen folks have found their audience.

Actually this is all the best news we've ever gotten out of Washington.
If everybody in this outfit is so incompetent that they all lose their emails, then how in fuck could they be competent enough to find tax cheats.
I've never had the guts to cheat on my taxes till this. But now I don't think I'll even bother to file a return.

Leftists don't want accountability in govt while their team is running things...

but that doesn't mean they don't want accountability from you bob. When they say "from each" that means you.

There has already been...dum, dum, dum, dum...WRONG DOING!

Emails have been destroyed or hidden. That is a crime, not "wrong doing".

A lot of nothing, signifying even less. Was there a reason for posting this opinion piece?

Not even close. If the IRS is the target of an investigation where was the committee subpoenas where those computers were turned over to the house forensic experts to discover any forensic evidence that somebody did something wrong. Zero....Nada.....and your declaring a wrong doing does not make a wrong doing any more than Howdy doody having a bad hair day makes him a star prosecutor.....no prosecutor I know would let the person they are investigating tell them they had no record......the first thing done whether is a child porn suspect, or Bernie Maddoff is to subpoena or get warrants so that forensics can discover evidence. This is stupid on steroids........There has been Zero investigation and only political innuendo, and Tex has posted repeatedly that absent the investigation and saying they want justice to investigate is not an investigation. I could see the watergate committees.....Mr. Nixon could you just tell us what was on the tapes? How stupid do you think the American Public is with this political theater. In a NY second you would get bipartisan support for IRS abuse if a real investigation was happening.....it is not.....so keep dum dum duming....it fits with your other conceptual shortcomings.

They are required to keep those emails and even make hard copies of them. Ms. Elizabeth Warren stated that the IRS had done the deed and semi-retired President Barack Hussein Obama stated that it was an outrage and would be investigated.

Crimes were committed, it is only a matter of how many people are part of the crime and did they act on the orders of President Obama or his henchmen?

Where are the indictments, Mr. Sea Lawyer?

Patience. Considering the stonewalling being done by this administration and how many scandals and cover ups are going on at one time, it takes time to process. Remember how many years it took for Nixon and Clinton? And look at all the other things going on? Middle East on fire, Russian expansionism, China churning out submarines like McDonalds Big Macs.
