Govt backed transportation - rail and bus. Mild summers - no need for AC. Winters were cold - heating oil for radiators. No shops open after 2 pm on Saturday until Monday morning 8 am. All cost savings - inconveniences you learn to live with - overall I'd live there again. Life was simple.

But Americans think bigger is better. And a majority think sharing and caring is progressively leftist and socialist and will not begin to consider some of the things that do work and are investments into a country's future.
Oh well...I'll wait for someone to tell me to go live there again.

Size does matter.
Perhaps if we looked at it on a state level without federal intrusion.
But that would go back to an age old fight...

3. They think they are victims - yet their representatives run the government.
4. Their representatives run the government - yet the poor keep getting poorer.
5. The poor keep getting poorer - yet they have things that people in other countries only dream about.
6. They have things that people in other countries only dream about - yet they want America to be more like those other countries.
Think about it! And that, my friends, pretty much sums up the USA in the 21st Century. Makes you wonder who is doing the math.

It appears the Germans want to make life healthier and cheaper too. And half the U,S. doesn't. Go figure ...
