You're stuck with Miller until Miller chooses to leave office or dies in office.
This is not like in Virginia where a tea party candidate unseated the House Majority Leader.
You need to understand that just one of our six military installations ALL BY ITSELF employs 14,000 people.
When you add up all the other DOD jobs (military and civilian) at the five other military installations, the whole entire Northwest Florida economy spins off from that. The other little sectors of our economy, tourism, health care and local government jobs, all spin off from that in large part too.
Our Congressional District rises and falls on military spending.
It's not just the local politicians and business leaders who understand this. So do the people. They want to ensure they keep their jobs. They know their jobs are dependent on this.
And enough of them know that if they vote in a freshman Congressman who has no influence in Congress, that it could make those jobs become less secure.
Ya'll can talk about all the other issues all you want. You can prefer one candidate because of this issue and prefer a different candidate because of that issue.
But none of that makes any difference.
