Two American UAV (unmanned aerial vehicles identifiers) shot down before a little over the Crimea and Crimean said Russian sources such as agency News of Crimea which relays the Voice of Russia and Serbia News, the News . nom.co which still Linc has the voice of Russia as you will see, the darkgoverment , and the Iranian farsnews

The American aircraft (one small tactical reconnaissance and other larger, referred to as a twin, probably Global Hawk) were shot down by anti-aircraft missiles and anti-aircraft gun shots in the area where t is the checkpoint Turetsky Val

The antiaircraft defense of Crimea has been put on highest alert.

The search of google news will send as the first site that has the Voice of Russia.

No, U.S. Drones Weren't Shot Down Over Crimea

Maybe don't believe hearsay from Russian media when they're currently invading a country.

According to a Voice of Russia report that has now mysteriously vanished, two American drones were shot down over Crimea this morning, including a "heavier, two-engine drone." The story popped up on Reddit's world news front page, and has been floating around Twitter, too. But lest we think World War III broke out over the Black Sea this morning, there are plenty of reasons to think the report, which cites info from Novosti Kryma (News of Crimea), is totally false.

One is that the American military has no two-engine drones. The closest is Boeing's Phantom Eye, an experimental potbellied drone built around a pair of liquid-hydrogen engines. Eventually, it could be a long-range surveillance drone, but just last month the U.S. Air Force designated it an experimental Air Force vehicle, meaning it's at the start of a long road to being an airplane the military uses. The Pentagon confirmed to Popular Science that the United States has no twin-engine drones.

Another problem with this news report is that America doesn't fly drones over hostile skies without an escort. In wars like Afghanistan, where there is no enemy air force to speak of, American drones fly independently. In places like the Persian Gulf, where other air forces might challenge American drones flying overhead, the Air Force escorts drones with fighters.

A third problem is the nature of the report itself. It comes from Voice of Russia, an English-language radio service owned by the Russian government. Russia is currently moving a large number of soldiers into Crimea, so many that the government of Ukraine is accusing Russia of invading. The Voice of Russia story has since been replaced with a report about the Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 crash. The URL, at time of writing, still reads "2014 03 11. Two US drones allegedly shot down in Crimea."

What is the meaning of the word allegedly?

I just think we shouldn't be rooting for Russia. no matter what. putin isn't exactly a libertarian. he controls his media and puts people in jail for talking about him. I have Russian friends btw, he is not held to high regard as the media makes it.

I know you are against all war teo, I understand that. and pd for for any war it seems. I don't like war, but sometimes its needed if someone invades your country and we don't have that problem other than Mexicans.

Yep Teo and thanks for your service. You are right, don't get into a pissing contest with someone working 21st century tech versus the 60s tech you were working with at the time. It's regrettable that you cannot be proud of what you did in the military. I do not regret any part of the 7 years in the Corps and 15 I have served in the AF. You're way warped though. You need to get some help. The first thing might be to avoid the Mel Gibson sites. None of us are important enough that we merit the attention of the government unless we just continually do stupid things or do things that threaten the government. You gotta be close to my dad's age and that being said, why bother with the craziness?

January 31, 1971 - The U.S. NAVY cancels the DASH Weapon System, FLEET WIDE. ALL QH-50s that survive DASH and SNOOPY are shipped to Davis-Monthan AMARC for storage. ARPA missions continue. The ships that flew DASH are quickly sold to friendly nations via Foreign Military Sales or scrapped.

Oh well, today's drones aren't junk. Could they be shot down even with SAFIRE, yep if they were low enough, but that's generally only at takeoff and landing that something of that nature could occur or in elevated terrain. . I have seen an instance where Iran and one of its older fighters tried to shoot a drone down dogfight style and the pilot was so sorry he could not even hit the target. That's pretty pathetic considering how slow they actually fly when on a mission. The Iranian did leave it alone once an American fighter came along to escort the drione along it's path in INTERNATIONAL airspace.

Did it somehow escape everyone's attention that this DID NOT HAPPEN?...that it was reported by VOICE OF RUSSIA as an ALLEGED event, but that somehow Alex Jones and others left out the word alleged. Yellow journalism at its finest...what sensationalist crap.
