The article and comments below say that Boeing had a lock on selling the Brazilian Air Force about 40 F/A 18 E + F Super Hornets, until that traitor Edward Snowden revealed that our NSA had been spying on the Brazilian people.

After this revelation, Brazil decided to buy 36 SAAB JAS-39 Gripen fighters from Sweden instead. Now the Super Hornet production line in St. Louis will close in 2 years unless the Navy or an international buyer purchases some additional F/A-18s.
