You are going to get a real treat on Thanksgiving this year.

Comet ISON.

Stock up, just in case. Wink

Do you see how BIG this comet is? Do you also know that the magnetic poles of the sun are due to flip at ANY MOMENT according to NASA? They are.

This is significant!

I feel good. I am excited!

I have no idea what is going to happen. And even if it is just one of the most magnificent sky shows ever, I will still be happy. Im just happy, I cant explain it.

This comet is making me happy LOL

Very Happy

From what I hear, these things are hot.

They tend to land near warm, moist crevices south of mountainous areas.
They thrust themselves through our atmosphere with the white hot intensity of a thousand suns. The deep impact shudders the planet with such thrust that our very souls will shake and smoke............speaking of smoke, I need a cigarette.

don't miss............................ you'll want to see.

I saved my pic of it entering the soho field of view. Cool

There was a smaller comet called ENCKE, it just took a pretty big hit. I watch these comets fly around the sun all the time. this is the biggest comet I have ever seen. seriously the coma appears to be possibly half the size of mercury which is the little planet to your left in the pic.

A rock like this is pretty damn rare.

This one came from outside our solar system, so it's a bit of a rogue.

It doesn't appear to be much of a threat, but it is very interesting.

Yes it is interesting, this is a special one for a bunch of reasons. Im probably going to wait till the very next snap shot on soho and give up for tonight.

Ill be following this closely along with RSOE.

Cool

NOVEMBER 27, 2013. Has Comet ISON disintegrated? That question was on everyone’s minds earlier this week, but, as of yesterday’s social media flurry, the comet appears to be holding its own. There’s evidence it has fragmented, and evidence it has not. Karl Battams – one of the great communicators at NASA’s Comet ISON Observing Campaign website – may have nailed it when he wrote earlier this week:

It is absolutely conceivable that ISON remains in one piece, and is just being a sungrazer.

In other words, astronomers just don’t know what will happen to Comet ISON when closest to the sun. They don’t know how to expect it to behave. Why not? Because we have never witnessed such a large comet come from such a far distance, which will come so close to the sun. Comet ISON has come from the Oort Cloud, over a light-year away. It will sweep only 730,000 miles (1.1 million km) above the sun’s surface. Karl Battams explained

http://earthsky.org/space/big-sun-diving-comet-ison-might-be-spectacular-in-2013

Note. Because Im not sure if this has sunk in. This is a completly NEW comet. It came out of no where, well the oort cloud. our primordial dust.

and its pretty big. However the size is being debated by many.

It would be awesome if some of you with nice cameras could keep a look out for it and get a picture? That would be cool. A keep sake for your family.

Cool

Edit because mercury is not the little planet to the left. It is Antares.

Antares (α Scorpii, α Sco, Alpha Scorpii) is a red supergiant star in the Milky Way Galaxy and the sixteenth brightest star in the nighttime sky. It is sometimes listed as 15th brightest, if the two brighter components of the Capella quadruple star system are counted as one star. Along with Aldebaran, Regulus, and Fomalhaut, Antares comprises the group known as the 'Royal stars of Persia'. It is one of the four brightest stars near the ecliptic. It is the brightest star in the constellation Scorpius, and is often referred to as "the heart of the scorpion". Antares is a slow irregular variable star with an average magnitude of +1.09.[3] Antares is the brightest, most massive, and most evolved stellar member of the nearest OB association (the Scorpius-Centaurus Association). Antares is a member of the Upper Scorpius subgroup of the Scorpius-Centaurus Association, which contains thousands of stars with mean age 11 million years at a distance of approximately 145 parsecs (470 light years).[10]

It might be even more impressive if it's broken... but not disintegrated. I'll definitely be looking for it.

Cool

ive seen conflicting stats on the size, but heres one that says it's about 3 miles in diameter. Thats pretty big to me.

Excuse me while I go change my shorts, have a smoke, and get a double shot of blackberry brandy (It's cold outside), in that order.

we have a mystery. they think it broke up, but one of the scientist said he cant figure out why they can not see it on soho. he said even if it broke up it would glow even better, but THEY SEE NOTHING.

it either hit the sun or they are lying. because you clearly would be able to see the fragments if it broke up and it JUST DISAPEARED.

Mad

this is extremely suspicious. I didn't expect this. it cant just disappear. I know for a fact nasa is lying to us. they tried to back track. even if it crashed into the sun the tail particles would have been visible for a while.

I went over to stereo core 2 which is a stelite that takes pics behind the sun and this is the most recent pic.
