What could he have possibly hoped to accomplish with this stunt?


From what I've read, he encountered a few hassles, but was able to complete the process in one day, and got a pretty good deal.

I wonder what he was successfully enrolled in? Just the exchange or an actual health plan after the exchange? Of course state exchange's and D.C. are different than the Fed exchange and the picture show's the Fed exchange.  He may have gotten an error message when they asked if you're on an employer sponsored health plan or eligible for one in 2014, which if answered truthfully would be yes and probably kick him out.

Nope that pic does not look like Fed Exchange, have to take that back.

The Boehners are fortunate enough to be able to afford higher costs. But many Americans seeing their costs go up are not,” said Boehner spokesman Brendan Buck. “It’s because of them that this law needs to go.”

Boehner and his wife, Debbie, currently pay a monthly premium of $433 for family coverage from Blue Cross Blue Shield, with a deductible of $700, according to his office. Last week, the speaker began shopping for a new plan in the D.C. exchange, a search his office drew attention to by tweeting pictures of him trying to enroll.
