An accompanying thread to PB's thread about the high cost of health care. THIS is the REAL PROBLEM. And neither democrats or republicans are doing a goddamn thing about it.

Who the hell wrote this shit.  I thought it was Chrissy but it looks like it's you.  I can't tell the two of you apart when it comes to this.

You don't have any idea what you're talking about. Yella ran a major assembly line in a manufacturing plant.  He actually did work in a corporation,  not politics.
He did the same job my Dad did at Monsanto.  And those sorry no-good politicians in charge of the corporation fucked over my Dad and all the others who had done the work to make them rich.
Your dad was paid exactly what he was worth, just as you are as well.  Why do people always think THEY'RE worth so much more than everyone else when they have nothing more to contribute?

See you just keep talking and you still don't know what you're talking about. Had nothing to do with his pay. They cheated him and thousands of others out of the retirement benefits they were promised. And they did it in a really chicken shit way.

So what you're saying is that your father trusted a big corporate entity to provide him benefits and retirement, much like the supposedly enlightened progressive liberals trust big government to provide them benefits and retirement.

So he was making plenty of money but chose not to make plans for his own future.  I'm sorry it worked out that way for him.  I'm also certain they targeted your father to specifically punish.

That is EXACTLY correct.

That's why I trust neither.

No actually Monsanto spun off the local manufacturing plant into becoming another company (Solutia) so that they could renig on their employment contracts.

But see you worship all corporations. Even Monsanto. And Monsanto is one of the worst corporations in modern American history.

I've been saying for quite some time that the government and economy was all just a house of cards. There's nothing there to keep it from collapsing. If the economy goes so does most of the government budget that keeps these benefit programs going. Right now the economy is being propped up artificially by the government both in employment and the stock market. It won't take much and...

C'mon, Chrissy. Ppaca is not a "little insurance boy." He is a kind, considerate professional who has tried to help us all navigate through the ACA. He has helped my family personally.

Chrissy, I speak up when people try to put you down. Now, I'm asking you not to do the same thing to others.

(Although, Ppaca, I'll admit I laughed out loud at Chrissy's "look here, little insurance boy" statement. I know you have a great sense of humor, so you probably laughed as well.) Wink

I laughed at the whole post pb, didn't bother me a bit. Been called worse in my life. I wish I was about 40 years younger lol.

sorry, ive been inflamed by bob and a couple of others on this post about no sympathy for my own situation which is apparent no one gives a shit about so when my temper flares BACK, get out of the way or get your eyebrows singed.

The man literally does not get that you guys despise the insurance industry more than you do the low life working health professionals such as myself. He is carrying the flag of his own murderer and that annoys me to see it.

however, your point is taken

Yes, I dislike the idea of having a middleman in health care, but that doesn't mean I "despise" any person who works in the health insurance industry. Ppaca is well aware of my views on single payer.

Where did you get the idea that I consider you a "low-life working health professional?" I have never thought that nor said that. Question

dumpcare

Chrissy, I don't believe anyone hates the health care professional's, I think we all hate the system. For instance I really like a particular specialist I have seen on and off for 15 years, LIKE him personally, but on a procedure he has performed on me 5 times over the past 15 years he has steadily gotten worse at it, I still like him, but wanted to change recently. Went to my family doctor and said he'd get me into see another across town. I hated doing that because I like the guy. But low and behold the system is such that the original specialist office called twice this week saying I had requested an appointment. I was warned it would be a problem in this town changing from one specialist to another in the same group except one works out of one hospital and one the other. That is the system, but should I be put at risk because of the system?

You hate insurance company's and I hate both insurance company's and the health care SYSTEM, not any particular person.

You never have...but several on this forum have attacked Chrissy personally and professionally because of her outspoken opinions. Chrissy is well informed.

I enjoy reading the different viewpoints from Chrissy, PB, Joani, ppaca, Teo and others who work or have worked in the health care or ins. industry.  Each person brings their own perspective and experience into the conversation.

I think that pretty much everyone is just frustrated for one reason or another.  These are difficult times.   Let's try to not take it out on each other. No

No you never have just like Joanie has said. hence why I give you the respect you deserve( mostly lol )

There have been thousands of times when I have tried over the few years to explain my point of view on this and have been attacked, yes I am defensive now and it occasionally makes me offensive. Did you read this entire thread?

Most of you are older or well off. Only a few of us are still out here trying to make a living and even fewer are trying to make a living in the environment that ACA has created. I have tried and tried till I am blue in the face to make the case of what is happening and going to happen to the working class person because of either hate for a few high paid employees of hospitals or just a desire to ruin a entire system because of a few %.

I said sorry and I got your point. that's the best I can offer. but we still remain on opposite sides of the fence on the issue and always will.

let me remind you. NO SPECIALTY took a BIGGER cut than mine. so don't expect me to be to apologetic and sympathetic with anyone who does not care about my own personal struggles. Im glad he helped you. who's helping me? No one and no one gives a shit on this forum either, you don't so I think I am being pretty consolatory considering your stance or ppaca's.

Personally,  I care about what all this means for Chrissy and every other person who is just trying to make a decent and honest living.   I don't want our health care professionals to be under so much duress.  It's not good for them, it's not good for the public or anyone.

When I point out that I was screwed over by a health insurance company (Mega),  ppaca never responded to say I was attacking him and that I wanted to "kill him off".  He hates that crooked outfit as much as I do.  lol

But for some reason,  Chrissy takes it as a personal attack against her when I try to explain my encounter with Sacred Heart Hospital when she doesn't work at Sacred Heart and doesn't even live here.

When I hear somebody complain about a crooked pinball machine seller,  I don't say "the whole pinball machine business is doing the work of Jesus so how dare you complain about getting screwed over by a pinball dealer.  You must be wanting to kill us all off".  lol
Hell most of those are crooked as snakes just like every other walk of life. lol

That has nothing whatever to do with you working in the health care business. I would have said the same thing if you were a pinball machine mechanic. lol
