There's no news coverage because they don't want anybody to see what the martians look like...



The news media are all liberals and all liberals are vegetarians. And they do not under any circumstances want us to see those martians.
Ever since the Rover got that picture of those martians and they learned that martians are a big head of really healthy looking cabbage, George Soros has instructed the lamestream media not to show that because he wants to harvest all those martian heads and corner the cabbage market.
I bet that new Rover that's up there right now has got Mr. Greenjeans in it with an assault rifle and he's harvesting those cabbages as we speak.

I heard that as the landing was taking place, the internet went silent because everyone was watching the landing.
Just goes to show that Curiosity killed the chat.
