According to the article, the Army will soon have a robot that can shoot. Artificial intelligence is reaching the point where robots can be self-aware. Cloud-computing has already made Skynet possible.

When  will the machines turn against us?

Typical of humans. Too stupid to leave fantasy where it belongs. Nope, we have to try and bring that fantasy to life, even though the fantasy brings us to our own destruction.

Well the terminators turning against us is not the only movie plot.
It could also play out like a different movie plot. With the machines
like the one in teo's avatar protecting us from ourselves.

Two great science fiction stories. Two entirely different scenarios.

This article is different from the one I posted ealier, and states the Army and Marines will use robots to do things like haul equipment, etc., but humans will do/control any shooting.

Obviously somebody got them to watch Robocop and after seeing the robot go insane and shoot up the corporate boardroom,  they came to their senses.  lol
