Maybe it's just not diagnosed in that community? When my son started school some 25 years ago, I had never even heard of Autism.

This article says that many Amish do vaccinate and that there is autism among the Amish.

I would guess it often goes unreported. Like I said, I had not even heard of autism 25 years ago.

The medical community and scientist do not see ANY correlation with vaccinations and autism. This is settled and a blog with some soccer moms is not going to change the science. However, the increase of autism, and the better reporting would suggest an environmental interaction. We live in a very complex chemical and biological man made world which is rapidly changing and the interactions of those agents on the human body will take luck and hard work to finally establish the links and causation with autism.

However, until then, T can rely on a bunch of soccer mom's posting their theories on science on their Cafe blog..........who knows.

I think a lot of the illnesses today are a result of the chemicals we put in our bodies.. What things are caused by the fertilizers, pesticides, sweetners, and preservatives used on or in the foods we eat?? How many years will it take before there is a new illness caused by a chemical or combination of chemicals we use.. I would much rather eat fresh food grown without the chemicals, but there are chemicals all over from different things.. Is it the exhaust from the truck, car, jet, or something else that caused you to cough during an air show or a race at 5 Flags? Maybe it's the smoke from the BBQ grill or the perfume or cologne from the person sitting close by..

LOL, well,one thing we know is that there aren't any soccer moms on this forum. They'd be concentrating on their kids and not wasting all day long on an internet forum if they were soccer moms.  
Your post was absolutely correct,of course. There's no proof at  all that vaccinations cause autism.

The amish may just prefer to handle what they see as problems with their children at home rather than to seek out medical treatment for them. you won't get diagnosed with autism if you don't go to a doctor.

God helps the Amish people with cures for this kind of thing. They are believers. Never heard of an Amish person with aids, have you?

Well, God tells them how to raise their children too, and I highly suspect that's got a lot more  to do with the lack of "autism spectrum disorder" in their community than any holistic healing methods do.
