Hey, and sugar itself is highly toxic to the human body. Fructose is what makes sugar sweet to the human pallet, and at the concentrations we consume it in the Western diet, it is the number one cause of cardiovasciular disease, type 2 diabetes, hypertension, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, and metabolic syndrome.

This comes from someone (me) who is working hard to curtail his overall sugar consumption. I declare that throughout my life, likely 1/3 of my calories came from sugar. I am now trying to change that.

But yes, aspartame is nasty stuff. I do small freelance writing jobs for pocket change at a website I frequent, and I will be using your source for an article I will be writing on aspartame. I just finished an article on sugar.

I used Stevia to kick my sugar craving. Just a packet in my tea and i am fine. Little different taste but far better for you .

I wouldn't shoot you but I won't quit using my Splenda either. It's in most of the soft drinks and I truly believe it is better for me than high fructose corn syrup.  It tastes good.
The minute you are born you have a fatal  illness. It's called the aging process.
I just don't see how a little Splenda is going to affect that one way or the other.

Bob, I've already read that.  Dr. Mercola is a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine.

Here's another one you should check out.  Yes...he does sell a curcumin (turmeric) compound, and it is expensive...but in what context?

And it's in classic Indian curry...(although you probably couldn't get a therapeutic dosage from food alone).  Try Everman's or 4 Winds(?)...or...

Clinical trials have been conducted; the one he's discussing here was by MD Anderson in the Houston Medical Center.

I've been running my mouth about how I've consumed three times my weight in this stuff by now and bragging about how it's not done me any harm.

Is there anything that has a lot of sugar in that you didn't expect? I drink a lot of sweet tea, but that's about it. No sodas or sweets, though I suspect there are things in my diet that contain a lot of sugar that I am clueless of.

Foods with High Fructose Corn Syrup

Here are some foods with high fructose corn syrup that you may have never expected to contain the ingredients – foods you may be eating every day.

Yogurts
Breads
Frozen pizzas
Cereal bars
Cocktail peanuts
Boxed macaroni and cheese
Salad Dressing
Tonic
Applesauce
Canned Fruit

Although their are 10 foods here, we bet you can find many more. It costs companies more to sweeten their foods with sugar, and even more with honey. So, because they are interested in nothing more than the bottom line – money, they often choose HFCS. It’s in ketchups, soups, cereals, pasta sauces, and more.
