I would have hated to see what they would have done to him if he was only 92.

Pepper spray or mace would have worked.

The police State is just one of the symptoms. Once a govt has bestowed upon itself sufficient control and power...

it uses it.

The vote could... in theory. That was a threat... hence the State education and generational conditioning. Why wouldn't a person vote for the candidate that offers them the most shit these days? Very few know anything except what they hear on tv.

It will take pressures... internal, external, economic, fiscal, oppression... much as we see at work in europe, africa, ME.

Lol... you silly socialist. I don't think we're going back to freedom or liberty... at least not before we lose our sovereignty and everything we worked for to accomplish in this country. Our path has been set... your side will win. If only you useful idiots knew what the prize is... I hope you live long enough to experience it first hand... but your children surely will.

everything we worked for to accomplish in this country.

Who is we, and exactly what were you trying to accomplish?

We is from our founders to everyone that protects liberty, equal opportunity, and our natural rights.

WE were trying something different here... it was never perfect... but was going a different way than the last 100+ years.

I don't expect you or salinski to understand. There have been thousands of steps from original intent to where we are.

I think you got that right. You know that perfection was in the eye of the beholder, and folks who were only considered 2/3s of a human, they just relished that perfection. A vibrant middle class destroyed by an Oligarchy and that fundamental fear of people of color drives the narrative of this nostalgic time when we lived with liberty and freedom, as 12 year old children worked the coal mines, and eighty hour weeks were the norm. That share cropping life was an incredible example of liberty.........yep we have PK's number.

You think wrong... ever wondered why the descendants of african slaves in other countries don't have the extent of our problems?

I can't learn for you. Clear your head of preconceptions and do the research... many people have written on it.

I guess I must be stupid.......I have been learning for 61 years, and I am unaware of structural slavery with the volume of slaves which were brought to America where another country exists who is problem free with their modern society who shared our history and volume of slaves.......hmmmm......ooooh oooooh Mr. Kotter, it must be Haiti.

Could it be you cannot learn me......because you lack the same learning?

Rome had institutional slavery for hundreds of years.

So did Greece, China, Egypt, Babylonia, etc...

When I was writing a thesis on LAFTA a part of the problem was the structural poverty in Brazil, and by golly the former slaves. A far more complex societal analysis because unlike the slavery of America where clear racial lines divided society, much less clear in Brazil........well except the stunning similarity of poverty.......but I guess Brazil and Haiti, are not the countries you are talking about which so clearly show the correlation of progressive policies and the decline of former slaves........this would be hysterical if I was sharing this conversation with an idiot, but I am not.....it is an intelligent man who has tendered a completely whacked theory of history, and does not want to take the time to learn me......well I have all the time you want to take......but I think you have got in the deep end of the pool, and you do not have your water wings..............

Now as Alex gives the Final Jeopardy question.........what was the key factor which distinguished slavery in America from historical Slavery found in Greece and Rome?

It is learn time...........

If you're suggesting that the Greeks and Romans allowed their slaves their freedom for meritorious achievements then you are only cherry picking the countries from the past that allowed such.

You also overlook the fact that to show meritorious achievement and earn your freedom didn't have a very good survival rate.

Why don't you get over your racism mantra like Bill Cosby suggests and move on with your life.

I am sorry Mr. Eagle, your answer was wrong and your score drops to negative 980, Mr. Bill Cosby, your answer is correct........the slaves were almost uniformly of African descent in America, and your final score is 19000, and you will be returning next week.

I see... So you believe the only people that were abused and oppressed over the decades by the United States government were the blacks in this country.

So that means all black people in the United States at this time were enslaved by the United States government in the past?

While on the obverse side of your racism argument...

So that means all white people in the United States at this time were accredited and certified black slave owners of the United States government in the past?

You are speaking Eagle......I do not understand....Eagle. I do not know how one becomes an accredited and certified black slave owner, but Alex is listening and will submit the same as another final jeopardy question.

Nope, I am simply saying that almost 100 years after the end of slavery I personally witnessed De Jure segregation simply based on race......but now the question is can you put English into the google translator and understand what I just posted in Eagle........if so.....I am buying shares in google.

I thought we were talking about slavery.

Now you want to bring in a whole different line of abuses and oppressions?

You really need to make up your mind.

Which abuses and oppressions after the Emancipation do you wish to discuss?

I want to talk about the Sedition Acts that were enacted against the cultural heritage of my post Emancipation immigrant family.

How about the Trail Of Tears and other abuses the United States government allowed to happen to the ancestors of the people one of my uncles descends from?
