If you didn't know Dick, well...it's too late now.
The dude with the comical name was a pretty awesome guy, and a damned good driver. I really don't remember when I met him (I was young) but I remember being introduced by my Father and listening in while he and Mr. Trickle chatted as other driver's milled about the pits. Red Farmer, Bobby and Donnie Allison, Phil Wendt, Jerry Lawley, Jody Ridley, The Niedeckens....and so many other drivers from southern short tracks, especially Five Flags Speedway. Tons of overlapping (pun intended) memories.
I will always smile when his name is mentioned....he was a nice guy.
