My wife grew up in a farming small town in the midwest. When she was in grade school feral packs of dogs were attacking livestock and had become such a problem that they had to be hunted down and killed. They would run in packs of 10-12 dogs and were brutal on sheep and goats. There never was a human attack, but they were making a mess of other domesticated farm animals.
