I hope you're not pissed off because I changed your pic...?

Darn, I didn't get to see what you did. I don't care what you do with it... as long as it isn't TOO disparaging. Surprised

(I cropped my image because there is no detail when software condenses the image for the forum. This way, it's not changed too much.)

I like the lighting on this one, Vector.

Thanks. It was a great day out there. The golden light. Some times you just have to wait for the right lighting to happen.

Yup. I can tell it was almost Sundown... a good time for color and shadows.

A photo I took from the foot of Palafox. As a boater, these landmarks are obvious.

Click on it for a full-sized picture.

Holy smokes, Vector! Those are fantastic and I LOVE the second two! You have quite a eye. Do you mind if I save them to my personal files?

I was only showing off...LOL.

It was a pretty easy feat on the iMac. I was afraid I had offended you by "fixing it" when there wasn't anything about it that needed "fixing".

The Amphitheater is at the south end of the Community Maritime Park. I'll see if I can find an aerial.

Roger that. I just Googled "Pensacola Amphitheater" and I did in fact miss it, as it was part of hg's most beloved local project. Wink

Hospital Bob

I was over in the Big Bend yesterday east of Appalachicola. I noticed that the water on the gulf was extremely low. I asked someone and was told it was always like this at low tide in the winter over there...

Personally, I think the below image should be hg's new avatar:

Sunset at Pensacola Beach - Page 2 HGsNewAvatar_QuintStuder

In fact, I think I'll buy this amazing book authored by none other than hg's bff as a Happy New Year gift!

Straight A Leadership: Alignment, Action, Accountability:

... /snipped description of this fine tome/ ...

Alignment - Think of C-suite leaders as aircraft pilots. If a pilot makes even a tiny error in setting longitude or latitude at the start of the flight, the plane can end up in the wrong city. ...

Action - Sometimes an organization is implementing the right action plan but it's being poorly executed. Other times, so many actions are taking place that they're working against each other, in the way that multiple medications can interfere with each other's effectiveness. Either way, the impact of each action is diminished or desired results go completely unmet.

Accountability - An organization may be properly aligned and taking the right action steps, but without a good system of accountability in place, it will get only short term gains. ...

Straight A Leadership offers a wealth of thoughtful, evidence-based insights on addressing the three "A's" in light of an organization's external environment. It also shows senior leaders how to evaluate their own execution in these areas and provides a "tool kit" that will help them get the organization moving in the right direction. It's the perfect book for any leader who wants to stay on the cutting edge in making their organization the best.

I bet I could even get it SIGNED! What a treasure that would be to add to hg's library!

@ riceme...

If you were ever lucky enough to meet Mr. Studer and chat with him without knowing him as QUINT, I think you'd like him. He must be effective or folk would not pay for his consulting.

When I was a kid, and freshly married, I took a job w/ a company that was owned by a friend of a friend of my Father. So I took the job and had a good run at it, moving forward and reaching my own Peter Principal.

The man who hired me had a MBA in Business Effieciency (?) or something related. So I kept getting promoted and then reach a point where it was more efficient to close the store I was assigned than to keep it open. I finally got it...

I was offered a quiet separation from their employment or be transfered to another store slated for closure if the numbers don't improve.

That man is now so wealthy I doubt he would know how much he has if he wasn't an Efficiency Expert. His consulting fees are absurd.

He reminds me of Mr. Studer.

The ability to make the missed point seem obvious and absolutely listen while you speak. But that's just an opinion and does not address his business with the County, etc...

I don't know Mr. Studer from Adam's off ox (whatever that means... Nick the bartender used the phrase in the movie It's a Wonderful Life). I just pick on people's hot buttons for fun... with HG, it is the ballpark.

I don't like what is happening to the CMP, and I'm not alone, but it's not my intent to single out and disparage Mr. Studer. He can't do a thing without the City's review and approval, so there is a lot of blame to go around. Yeah, even the voters approved a concept that included a ballpark... but that dead horse has been beat enough. Razz
