This likely nothing compared to what could happen here and all over this planet. Even though many people laugh and disclaim the global warming it is happening and the bizarre weather events we have seen are possibly a result of this phenomena. Its not just the icecaps that are melting its also the snow cover on mountain ranges all over the planet. The less snow cover the less water to feed the aquifers as well as less rain necessary for plant growth which means less to eat for the burgeoning population. Meanwhile every spring incredible floods cause untold losses. We spend more than all the other countries in the world on "Defense" when what we should be doing is using some of those billions of dollars digging gigantic flood pools in certain areas so that floodwater can be trapped and used. Many will LOL at this post but will have trouble proving me wrong.
