It's been a heck of a lot longer than forty days and forty nights. If the cry of it's all Bush's fault continues I'm going to need me an ark.

When does the credit for achievement expire....? Even when history points out a different result than had been previously accredited....?

To deny that Dubyah drove the Bus into the ditch is absurd. The time it takes to undo certain situations is not a zero sum equation, no matter how much the neo-cons on this forum screw around with the math.

Filing bankruptcy takes years to erase it as a negative factor in your credit rating. A felony, even w/out extenuating circumstance, will automatically exclude most folk from a higher income situation in their chosen career field, even after they have payed their debt to society....monetarily or by serving time.

It's foolish to blame Bush for everything this far down the road, but to summarily dismiss his actions as being part of the cause for our economy, is equally silly.

You certainly can not correct any situation by continuing to spend spend spend and it will most likely escalate over the next 4 years.

Japan is still dealing with its housing and stock market bust that occurred over 20 years ago. People will be blaming George Bush for a long time.

And ignoring the many other factors in play.

Sure, but it's always fair to acknowledge the people who set the stage for the collapse and guaranteed a long slog by calling for TARP.

Sure, lets also call out the Congressmen and Senators who voted for it before they didn't - Democrats were in the majority in favor by the way so in all fairness it was a bi-partisan effort:
Bush signed the $700 billion rescue plan into law in October 2008, it passed the House by a 228-205 vote, with 91 Republicans in support, and the Senate by a 74-25 vote, with 32 Republicans

Don't forget about the greedy bankers, inept Federal Reserve, lying ratings agencies and overzealous home buyers.

Well of course. The democrats will never admit to any wrong doing by Obama. He is the Messiah.

I voted for George Bush. The problems which we face are not all his fault, and there are a great many to blame, but central to where this country finds itself today is the reality in 2018 we will have a 20 trillion dollar debt and most objective analyst say that almost half of that debt or a little less than 10 trillion will be directly attributable fighting two wars over a decade, an unfunded drug mandate, and the Bush tax cuts.

Now once this structural debt was set in place, and fiscal responsibility left both parties.....we now find ourselves blaming President Obama. I think the voters spoke clearly that cutting more taxes and pouring more money down the rabbit hole of defense spending was not their priority, but they wanted government to operate efficiently and with the purpose to serve the citizens of this country and not special interests.

We do not have a debt problem in America. We have a job problem. When we can get people back to work we will grow our GDP and find that realistic solutions applied over the next decade will returns us to fiscal conservative policies which will find our grandchildren living in a nation which has its act together. I think the fiscal cliff must be crossed. I think every American must see their paychecks reduced and understand that those who want to protect the top 2% from a return of the Clinton year tax rates need to be voted out of congress in 2014. We no longer need bipartisan support for stupid policies.....we need correct policies and damn the torpedoes....Republican or Democrat.....create an atmosphere which rewards job creation under our tax code, or we will simply get rid of enough fools in 2014 to get this country's GDP growing. Simple Austerity measures is no solution, but within a context of job creation, austerity slowly making responsible cuts which improve government efficiency and productivity must be made. Blaming Obama or Bush is simply stupid. You are either working for job creation, or you are hurting job creation....there is no middle ground, and there can be no compromise.
