Georgie Boy, did you have a flat up on the bridge? Or, did you just find a new place to hang out with your "Will work for food" sign? Razz

Good pics BTW.

I was going to take some pictures from the Navy Blvd viaduct but the time was not right and I could not get the angle I wanted , so I rode on over to the bridge, I thought of you as your boat is almost right there. I need to shoot a Sunset from the other side........

Awesome photos of Mother Nature, hallmark. While you were bicycling on the bridge I was taking my morning walk here and took this video.
You've captured nature in all her glory. This captures human technology in all it's glory.
But just like no photography can match what you were seeing with your eyes from atop that bridge, no photography can match the feeling of being that close when he pulls back the throttle on those two Pratt and Whitney JT8D's.

I love to watch airplanes take off and land. In Japan, I used to walk the golf course at night. The course was adjacent to the flight line-- just feet away from the flight line. And it was a beautiful sight in the evening to see the afterburners as the jets took off....the smell of jet fuel, the vibration of the ground as they took off...I miss it.

I wonder how the Shinto temple at Stooderville might look at sunset?

When my business folded I was beating the bushes for something to do. I took a job at the Airport cutting the grass.on the runways. Drove a Ford tractor with a 16 foot batwing bush hog. Had to be very careful not to hit the field lighting. Wore a headset and was in contact with the tower. When a plane was coming they would call and tell be to back off from the runway. It was really neat being so close when the planes were landing and taking off. The job did not pay much so i had to pull up after a couple on months but it was a fun job. BTW My call sign was "Grasshopper" Cool handle

oh my effing god!!! I cannot imagine what it must be like to be standing right underneath it. That looks like it's no more than 15 or 20 feet above your head (even if that much). Damn damn damn I wish I could experience that!!

p.s. that is sure a scary looking landing though. If that pilot makes one false move that thing is crashing onto that beach!!

When I took the job i did not think much of it. Just a mowing job. But I guess I got a pass because I was in the Army Security Agency and had held a TS clearance. I got to meet the Airport director. He was a neat guy. we talked for about 15 minutes about different things and how to be careful around the runways. It then dawned on me that everyone would be watching my every move. So much for drinking sodas and listening to music on my sony walkman. LOL Of course I did not cut real close to the runways every day but it was interesting when I did. Weaving around the lights and runway markers with a big ass bush hog was pretty stressful. I never clipped a light or marker but I came oh so damn close.

Not a very good picture but a Blue Heron looking for breakfast. I used to have one that came to see me every day around 3 pm. I used to bait up fish for him to catch. It was really neat. He would let me get close enough to touch him. I had to quit because he was getting where he would not fish on his own. In hindsight I should have not started feeding him..

Very nice. Does it have outriggers on it or do the springs "Lock" up?

Sorry HM, took the last one down. They are funky about security issues. No outriggers. pumps 1500 GPMs whether stationary or on the roll.
