Liberal filmmaker Michael Moore on Friday endorsed Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) for president in 2020, saying "he absolutely can win this."

Moore said a reason for his decision to support Sanders is the senator's willingness to recognize that capitalism "is at the core" of a number of issues facing the country.

Also, AOC is endorsing Bernie too. I've got to admit, I didn't see this coming. Alarmingly, it is good to remember, Michael Moore was one of the very few prior to 2016 voting, that contrary to popular belief, Hillary was not going to win, that Trump would win. Not enough voters took this to heart and voted for Jill Stein or stayed home, thinking Hillary was a shoe-in.

On the heels of his heart attack no less, AOC, the rest of The Squad and Moore endorse Sanders. I'm loosing my mind.

Either Sanders or Warren as nominee will lose it for us, plain and simple, period the end.  They are just too damned far left for this point in our nation's evolution. It's positively terrifying.  Have rarely been so certain of anything in my life.

Hope y'all can access the following USA Today opinion piece; it's an eye opener:

Anti-Trump women of corporate America wish Warren would tone it down

Warren has shown a remarkable ability to read the mood and passions of voters, and it has paid off in big ways. But to win the presidency, she might need to consider a more inclusive, even nuanced approach. It remains to be seen if she’s willing.

At this point DJT has done SO much damage to the national interests on every front that merely "going back to what used to be normal" is not good enough. That being said, there is also a very good argument to be made for a respite from the total chaos and destruction brought about by this POTUS.

A Biden to me, stands for back-to-normal. I would be more inclined to an administration that wanted not only to repair and rebuild our institutions but one that would also reform parts of the structure of government that we took too much for granted.

We need tax reform to address income/wealth gap and institutional reform to address weakness in laws governing the executive to guard against another  immoral tin-pot grifter like the one we have now. Sanders is too far over the top, too obvious. I saw some polling on Iowa showing Mayor Pete doing pretty well...Amy? Who? As the saying goes: Vote Blue, No Matter Who.

For a guy that just had a heart attack Bernie looks fit as a fiddle to me. Not that I'm a Bernie fan because I'm still for Harris or Warren but he looks like a lion in comparison to some of the middle of the road demmies that are attacking Warren. Fuck corporations and their trickle down support. Tax the Rich! At least that sounds better than the war cry of new blockbuster movie being shown in theaters right now KILL THE RICH! Twisted Evil

BIG STRUCTURAL CHANGE

Buttigieg is looking better and better to everyone in my family. A progressive with solid, reasonable ideas, military experience for perspective, and well spoken to boot. I'd be proud to have him represent the USA on the world stage.

Yes. Gabbard would be the worst choice by a Russian mile

I'm increasingly not really caring what AOC thinks about anything. She's okay, but the hype around her is way out of proportion. I like her spunk, but she's an absolute idiot about some things.

And Michael Moore can't infarc fast enough to suit me. The day that piece of shit chokes to death on a sandwich, I'm throwing a party. The enemy of my enemy is not necessarily my friend, and he proves it... he's been nothing but a burden that every Democrat's had to carry for years. Absolute piece of shit, that guy.

As for Bernie, he oughtta have taken a damn hint and drop out of the race and get out of the way already. He's wasting everyone's time. He's one of the only people we have running who has no real chance of winning. The sooner he gets out of the way, the sooner we'll be able to see how this race really stacks up, because right now his idiotic cult is just acting as a spoiler.

I'll take Bernie over Moscow Gabbard.

Agreed, as usual. Well, except maybe for the "She's OK" part. I don't consider her OK, because she adds to the fear of the "lunatic left" that will help keep The Donald in the Oval Office.

Under the heading of: everything is relative, consider that AOC and Bernie serve as contrasts to our more middle of the road candidates. By comparison Mayor Pete, Harris, etc. look pretty "normal".

The question we face is, what is the antidote to Trump? How do we as a nation  "correct" for this enormous error in our history? Dems universally and basically want more than anything to get rid of him, period. "vote blue, not matter who" works for our base but how do we find someone who won't scare away Independents and people who freak out at the word 'socialist'?

Mondale, Dukakis, Gore, Kerry lost. Which Democrats won? Clinton and Obama. What does this tell us, if anything? Times change and we have to adjust our calculations to fit them. But who is the person who will have enough emotional draw to stir up the voters? Or, do we let the negative emotions fanned by the flames of Trump haters do the work for us?

Bernie scares me for several reasons. He's too old. His message is too socialist for many voters. His supporters are too devoted to leave him and support whoever becomes the nominee if it is not him. I sure didn't see this AOC thing coming, nor Moore. President Pence?
