Sarah Sanders: God 'wanted Donald Trump to become president'
White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said she believes God wanted President Donald Trump to win the 2016 election, the Christian Broadcasting Network reported on Wednesday.
"I think God calls all of us to fill different roles at different times and I think that he wanted Donald Trump to become president, and that's why he's there," Sanders told CBN's David Brody and Jennifer Wishon, according to a transcript of the interview provided by CBN.
"I think he has done a tremendous job in supporting a lot of the things that people of faith really care about," Sanders added.https://www.cnn.com/2019/01/30/politics/sarah-sanders-god-trump/index.htmlAh-h-h... that explains everything.
Yep, good ol' right-wing logic for ya: doesn't matter what Trump does, some mystical ghost-being who lives in the sky says he's good, so, end of argument.
It's all
belief and not fact.
Hell, one of the big conservative "thinkers," Ben Shapiro, is really fond of saying "facts don't care about your feelings"... while he wears a yarmulke because he thinks some ghost in the sky doesn't wanna see the top of his head. I mean, you wanna do that, fine, but don't present yourself as the guy who's all-fact and feelings-don't-matter, because I'm gonna have no choice but to hee-haw that shit.
Really, where ya gonna go with people who've just decided that some make-believe being's wishes -- which they somehow know exactly mirror
their own wishes -- are the final answer to any argument? Nowhere. You can't use logic to talk someone out of a belief that they didn't arrive at through logic in the first place. They believe Trump is good because they
want to believe that. So, Trump being a Russian asset has become like evolution or a round-earth for these people: whatever evidence you give them, they're going to want more. Give them a missing link, they're going to say it's not good enough and it doesn't prove anything. Give them whatever they say
will prove it to them, and they'll just change their requirements again.
Reality's not going to impinge upon the will of a cult. You can't tell them "there is no Xenu" because they've got a lot invested in thinking there is. So, whatever Mueller turns up, whatever evidence comes to light, they're going to keep saying "There's no evidence, nothing to see here." It's maddening for sane people to be confronted with, but they're idiots, ya just gotta write 'em off as hopeless.
