Once again the fantasy bubble that 45 lives in was burst on the very public stage of a Congressional hearing. The report by leaders of our intelligence community repudiated comments made by the president on every topic from ISIS to North Korea.  The cringe worthy reviewing of the Helsinki press conference is a painful reminder of Putin's hold over this president. It boggles the mind to see these things displayed so vividly in public view. This is so dangerous.

Have to agree with the talking head on MSNBC last night (can't recall which person) who opined that whatever info US intel has regarding any of Trump's meetings/conversations with Putin, they've probably gleaned from the Russians.

Pitiful and frightening.

It is a fact, and not a conjecture that DJT has had numerous private meetings with Putin at which there were no representatives of the US government. In a few cases there was an interpreter present, whose notes he confiscated and told said person to not discuss the conversations with anyone.

This is not only stupid on 45's part but it puts Russia the position of knowing what was discussed, topics, promises, agreements etc. and leaves the US in the dark. Politics aside, this is not even a recommended business practice.

With his history of lying, even if he told the truth about what was said, no one would believe him and he has no backup to support whatever he might say.

Good thing he knows more than the intelligence community! He's So Smart!! Oh, what a POS!

Sarah Sanders: God 'wanted Donald Trump to become president'

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said she believes God wanted President Donald Trump to win the 2016 election, the Christian Broadcasting Network reported on Wednesday.

"I think God calls all of us to fill different roles at different times and I think that he wanted Donald Trump to become president, and that's why he's there," Sanders told CBN's David Brody and Jennifer Wishon, according to a transcript of the interview provided by CBN.
"I think he has done a tremendous job in supporting a lot of the things that people of faith really care about," Sanders added.

So, let me get this straight: does it then follow that God also wanted Barack to be president too, or was God napping during that period of time? Take other historical figures that, like Trump, were either evil or inept and apply Sander's reasoning/thoughts to that. Hmmm. Having trouble making sense of this?

The F news people are still ranting about what a needlessly over-the-top arrest the FBI made when they took in Stone. No mention, of course, of the need to preserve evidence nor even the fact that the perp himself said they were very polite. But then a distraction is a distraction.

Yep, good ol' right-wing logic for ya: doesn't matter what Trump does, some mystical ghost-being who lives in the sky says he's good, so, end of argument.

It's all belief and not fact.

Hell, one of the big conservative "thinkers," Ben Shapiro, is really fond of saying "facts don't care about your feelings"... while he wears a yarmulke because he thinks some ghost in the sky doesn't wanna see the top of his head. I mean, you wanna do that, fine, but don't present yourself as the guy who's all-fact and feelings-don't-matter, because I'm gonna have no choice but to hee-haw that shit.

Really, where ya gonna go with people who've just decided that some make-believe being's wishes -- which they somehow know exactly mirror their own wishes -- are the final answer to any argument? Nowhere. You can't use logic to talk someone out of a belief that they didn't arrive at through logic in the first place. They believe Trump is good because they want to believe that.

So, Trump being a Russian asset has become like evolution or a round-earth for these people: whatever evidence you give them, they're going to want more. Give them a missing link, they're going to say it's not good enough and it doesn't prove anything. Give them whatever they say will prove it to them, and they'll just change their requirements again.

Reality's not going to impinge upon the will of a cult. You can't tell them "there is no Xenu" because they've got a lot invested in thinking there is. So, whatever Mueller turns up, whatever evidence comes to light, they're going to keep saying "There's no evidence, nothing to see here." It's maddening for sane people to be confronted with, but they're idiots, ya just gotta write 'em off as hopeless.

I have no doubt this is precisely what will happen.  Speak to them about Trump's incessant lies, his amorality, and/or anything Mueller turns up, and all they'll do is chuckle and keep on blindly supporting him.   It's absolutely astounding.

Robert Mueller, the former FBI director and current special prosecutor in the Russia case, once was hauled before the nation's secret intelligence court to address a large number of instances in which the FBI cheated on sensitive surveillance warrants, according to evidence gathered by congressional investigators.

For most of the past 16 years, Mueller's closed-door encounter escaped public notice because of the secrecy of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC).

But thanks to recent testimony from a former FBI lawyer, we now have a rare window into documented abuses of Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrants and how the courts handled the matter.

The episode is taking on new significance as Mueller moves into the final stages of his Russia probe while evidence mounts that the FBI work preceding his appointment as special prosecutor may have involved improprieties in the securing of a FISA warrant to spy on Donald Trump's campaign in the final weeks of the 2016 campaign.

The sin that plagued the FBI two decades ago, and that now lingers over the Russia case, involves the omission of material facts by agents applying for FISA warrants in sensitive counterterrorism and counterintelligence cases.

Such omissions are a serious matter at the FISC, because it is the one court in America where the accused gets no representation or chance to defend himself. And that means the FBI is obligated to disclose evidence of both guilt and innocence about the target of a FISA warrant.
