Did you ever hear him sing "Nature Boy?"

Oh my God. I'd only heard Sinatra sing it until recently and I didn't think I could ever hear anything better. But Nat King Cole and Nature boy just takes your breath away.

When my son got married I gave him a card with the words to that song on it. His wife said it was from Moulon Rouge. I guess every generation sees things a little differently.

Never heard Sinatra do it. Giant hit for Cole.

My first time hearing this. I know Frankie was called The Voice but in my opinion he came up short in comparison to Cole.

IMHO this was Cole's greatest recording before he was taken from us.

That was a great song. I don't think I've ever heard it. Songs like that make me sad for anyone under about 45 years old anymore. IMO, most music has been pure crap for just about that long.

I think Nat King Cole's Nature Boy was better than Sinatra's too, but only by a hair. I'm just glad neither of them screwed the song up by changing the tempo or the style. A lot of great classics have been re-recorded that should not have. If I were boss of the world I'd arrest all the singers who take classic music and try to "make it their own."  Smile
It's usually a classic because it's perfect already.
