QAnon, the Pro-Trump Conspiracy Theorists, Now Believe JFK Jr. Faked His Death to Become Their Leader

Believers used to think someone close to Trump was leaving them clues to the president’s plan to defeat the deep state. Now they’ve got an even crazier idea.

Believers in the bizarre pro-Trump conspiracy theory called QAnon were out in force at the president’s rally in Tampa, Florida on Tuesday, waving signs and cut-outs of the letter “Q” in front of the television cameras.

Until July, QAnon supporters believed that “Q,” the anonymous online forum poster whose cryptic clues make up the conspiracy theory, was a high-ranking Trump administration official, or maybe even Trump himself. But now, a good portion of QAnon believers have become convinced that Q is none other than JFK Jr, even though he died in a plane crash nearly 20 years ago.

Around the middle of July, a new figure named “R” appeared in the 8Chan forum devoted to QAnon “research.” (“R” is the letter in the alphabet after “Q.”) The anonymous poster, who was soon dubbed “Ranon,” posited that Kennedy hadn’t actually died in a plane crash off the coast of Massachusetts. Instead, he’d faked his death to avoid the supposed deep-state cabal that is at the center of QAnon and teamed up with Trump to kick off a decades-long strategy. While Trump had laid the groundwork for his presidential bid, QAnon believers posited, Kennedy had become Q.

4Chan (and I guess it's mostly 8Chan now, since "Q" moved most of his bait there) is one of the biggest hives of idiocy ever created. The people who normally would have been shoved to the borders of society due to their crippling lack of social skills and ability to reason have found a support group... and this is the kind of shit they brew up. The site's like a petri dish for racist white computer geeks who can't get laid and think all their inadequacies and inability to compete are the fault of non-whites and women. They also, for some weird reason, think autism and being a sociopath are something to strive for. Things that started out being a joke over there are now getting taken completely seriously. I don't think they understand a damn thing about the workings of the country... all they really want to do is "piss off the libtards," no matter if it causes the fall of America or not. Hell, half the people there are probably working for Russia, anyway. Which, by the way, a lot of evangelicals are now declaring is our "friend" because they're white and Putin's started playing to the Christians because he's figured out that Christianity is the easiest way to put a leash on large herds of useful people and get 'em to do what you want. Putin's finally caught up to Trent Lott and Haley Barbour!

It's very odd, but the level of stupidity 4-and-8-Chan can come up with really doesn't surprise me anymore, even when it involves a zombie-JFK-Jr. I'm just waiting for them to declare Cap'n Crunch the admiral of the Kekistan Navy or some shit. They've all decided to be drones in a numb, bitter hive-mind.
