On one of the Sunday talk shows, Kellyanne Conway, that paragon of extreme sycophancy, said that people who lose Medicaid coverage under the Republican plan can always go find jobs that provide health insurance.

I'm not kidding, she really said that. Honest, she really did. No kidding, really, I'm not making this up.

Here's the video, Kellyanne's expression of compassion and empathy for people on Medicaid begins at about 4:00. God, I hate this bitch!

There's also a few stories about Ms. Conway's expression of  Christian magnanimity:

Is this really happening? Am I having some kind of horrible flashback or something? Please, make it stop, make it stop!

Good holy grief! Talk about going from bad to worse. Un-blanking-believable -- only it IS believable, coming from this horridly compassionless shell of a person, part of an even less compassionate administration.

Are we sure they haven't all been taken over by aliens?? They're just so....INHUMAN.

Jeez. Right when I think they've surely hit the bottom of how scummy they can get, they pull out a pickaxe, yell "Surprise!" and start flailing.

At some point even their brainwashed supporters are going to have to get enough of this.

And Kellyanne Conway is repugnant.

According to analysis of the tax cuts that would be created by the "savings" from the new healthcare bill, the tax breaks would go to the 400 richest households in the country. Those people must have a lot of clout is all I can say. (And no conscience)

Something about the response to the 2008 financial crisis occurred to me recently. After the Great Depression was well underway in '32 that Roosevelt was elected and a ton of New Deal legislation was passed. Social Security, Unemployment compensation, child labor laws, Forty-hour week with O.T., Right of Labor to organize--the Wagner Act, the FHA--all that stuff.

The Republicans have been fighting this stuff for decades, whittling it back item by item. They knew that if anything like the Depression happened again, they'd be goners for decades. THAT'S why they bailed out the banks! Not to rescue the economy, but to rescue themselves!

It is socialism for the financial institutions, where we all pitch in to save them and capitalism for the rest of the country. In that case the market will sort out the losers. Great scheme for the few.

Trump lawyer's firm steered millions in donations to family members, files show

More than 15,000 Americans were losing their jobs each day in June 2009, as the US struggled to climb out of a painful recession following its worst financial crisis in decades.

But Jay Sekulow, who is now an attorney to Donald Trump, had a private jet to finance. His law firm was expecting a $3m payday. And six-figure contracts for members of his family needed to be taken care of.

Documents obtained by the Guardian show Sekulow that month approved plans to push poor and jobless people to donate money to his Christian nonprofit, which since 2000 has steered more than $60m to Sekulow, his family and their businesses.
