This is so disturbing.

I am going public to reveal the astonishing truth. There is a simple way to instantly, with ease, end our nation’s health cost misery!

When the founder of a Miami area hospital, who was a longtime friend and client died, I became interim president. The insider’s view of the healthcare system is enough to make anyone sick.

Healthcare is the only industry exempt from the rigors of the U.S. free market system. Ask the price of any healthcare service and you will always receive the same answer: “What insurance do you have?” Billing is determined by how much can be extracted from each patient on a case by case basis. It is a predatory system that is built on the destruction of free market economics through political influence.

Value and market price are entirely irrelevant concepts. Patients who are out of network or uninsured are routinely charged 10X more than “normal” rates. This is fraud in any business – except health care.

For-profit healthcare is a form of moral depravity and the insurance industry is essentially a RICO enterprise.

There's a reason every State in the Union has an insurance commissioner or the equivalent. Ask yourself why. Could it be because the industry is so routinely corrupt?

Read the whole article, it's only a few more paragraphs.

Healthcare hasn't been truly "free market " since the govt began its takeover in the 30's. I just love the leftist "logic" that when govt runs something into the ground that the solution is always more govt... lol.

Runs something into the ground? You mean like Social Security which has an administrative cost that's a fraction of private pension plans?

How about the TVA, has that been "run into the ground"?

How about the CDC, is that another government boondoggle?

You have a very selective point-of-view, you ignorant hillbilly asshole!

I've got a Republican friend who used to fear socialized medicine... but then he lived in Japan for a while and experienced it, and thought it was the greatest thing, ever. Now his main problem with Obamacare was that it wasn't socialized enough. He'll still rant against "socialism" in most areas, but as far as health care goes, he's all for it.

Government screws up some things, and some things it doesn't.

The conglomeration of the for-profit healthcare, insurance and pharmaceutical industries form the largest single RICO enterprise know to man.

It would be interesting to know what their combined donations to individual Congressmen amount to. And the PACs they've created.

Their ALEC agenda is jaw-dropping.

On American Legislative Exchange Council task forces, corporate lobbyists and special interests vote as equals with elected representatives on templates to change our laws, behind closed doors with no press or public allowed to see the votes or deliberations. ALEC legislation affecting healthcare for Americans includes proposals to weaken the regulation of medicine by the Food and Drug Administration, privatize Medicare and Medicaid, repeal important laws that expand public access to health care, and bar the families of Americans injured or killed by drugs that are recalled from holding drug companies accountable for the loss of beloved parents, partners, or children. Corporate members of ALEC’s Health and Human Services Task Force include Guarantee Trust Life Insurance, Johnson & Johnson, and PhRMA.

There's more, MUCH more at that website, if anyone cares to look.

Here's few of the section headings:

*Deregulating the Health, Pharmaceutical, and Insurance Industries
*Weakening Public Health
*Limiting the Accountability of Drug Companies and Doctors for Injury or Death
*Privatizing Medicare, Medicaid, and Other Programs to Aid Americans’ Health
*Opposing Health Care Reform

The business model is simple: Squeeze as much profit as possible from human misery by exploiting the sick and dying.

Ah-h-h, the bounteous invisible hand of capitalism. What a glorious honor for America.
