Pence may have been present when President Trump was making plans and open admissions of impeding the Russian investigation. Highly unprecedented for a Vice President to lawyer up, but incredibly smart. Like Comey, there will be attacks on Pence if he had knowledge of obstruction of the law. This tar baby is growing, and I am stunned that Pence has done this. It sends a clear message to me that Sessions and Trump are complete liars and that Pence who I do not agree with his politics believe is an honorable man now realizes that lifeboats require learned counsel.

Richard Cullen: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know

#3. He Advised Politicians During the Iran-Contra & Watergate Investigations

Richard Cullen has plenty of experience working alongside politicians during political scandals. After all, during the Iran-Contra investigation, Cullen served as special counsel to Senator Paul S. Trible Jr.

This, of course, was the scandal in the mid-to-late 1980s in which Reagan administration officials secretly facilitated the sale of arms to Iran. Paul S. Trible Jr. was a U.S. senator from Virginia who was not directly involved in the affair but who sat on the Select Committee on Intelligence.

In 1987, The New York Times described Trible by writing, “A low-key conservative, he has asked tough questions of Administration witnesses, though he has a voting record loyal to the President.”

Before Iran-Contra, Cullen worked as a legal advisor during the Watergate investigation. According to the McGuireWoods website, Cullen advised Representative M. Caldwell Butler during Watergate.

I totally disagree with Tobin on CNN who has consistently been wrong about almost every position he initially takes, but is great revising his position the next night like we do not remember. He thinks this is no big deal. Just smart.

I think it is a big deal and indicative that loose lips may have openly discussed obstructing justice in front of the vice president. When this thing starts to unravel, he needs to cover his asz as to what his level of participation was in the cover up. The attorney general is obviously up to his neck with conversation with President Trump in regard to the investigations, including a scolding he got for his stepping down from the Russian investigation. Contrary to Tobin's consistent missing the essence of a legal issue has not changed.
