As Churchill once said: "Now this is not the end. It is not even the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning."
It was the largest mass protest in Washington, DC and across this nation and in fact the world, since the giant anti-war protests of the 60s and early 70s.
The participants were male and female, and marched for more than a dozen differing reasons. For Trump and the American traitors who support him (it appears Trump and Putin worked hand in hand to rig our Presidential election), the numbers of protestors was truly frightening. Echoes of the fledgling Tea Party before organization.
There were republicans in the crowd as well as democrats and former-democrats. The protests yesterday were equally bad news for the now defunct democrat party. Over the last thirty years the DNC had a choice: represent the people or the oligarchs. What's clear to all of us is that while pretending to be concerned about our issues, the democrat party never crossed the interests of their financiers.
You can't represent those who want to own and run everything, and the interests of the people. All of us who were democrats understand that.
Facts are, the people who run the democrat party show still haven't yet decided to abandon the relationships that gave Trump his victory.
Jobs. Affordable healthcare. Better wages, increased earnings, affordable education, clean energy, women's rights, gay rights, more security ... these desires are not restricted to one party or the other. That's why there were democrats and republicans who marched yesterday.
Today, all the people who marched in protest, and all their affiliated groups and organizations lack a real leader who can bring us all together and harness our energy and spirit.
Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren come to mind, but surely there are others who can capture our loyalty and determination to improve life, justice, and true equality in our country ... and, across the planet.
People who marched yesterday in Europe, Asia, and Latin America have the same hopes for a peaceful, more productive and equitable world.
The facts are, we're the biggest movement the world has yet seen ... and we're in search of a leader.
Trump is the enemy. All of us know that.
Markle and his fellow deplorables laugh at our current discomfort. Our turn will surely come.
Viva We the People!!
