Has anybody bought a car with a collision avoidance system

I am wondering what experiences anybody has with these new systems in new model cars. We will be going into the market for a new vehicle in the next six months with all the long mileage trips, and would like some feedback on new safety systems in cars.

If I was buying a new vehicle, I wouldn't even consider buying one without it.

I am still driving. I will stop when I no longer can drive safely. The problem with that self assessment, like an old person who insists on driving.......it usually takes a near miss accident or an accident for that person to stop driving. I am really not near that point, but a heck of a lot closer than a year ago. We will probably look at cars around November through April. Time to read the Consumer reports and Car and driver. I like that extra margin of safety.
