Media Research Center President Brent Bozell, along with more than 20 conservative leaders and media personalities, informed the heads of ABC News, CBS News, CNN and NBC News in a letter that they are urging the members of their respective organizations to switch off the liberal media for their deliberate and calculated attempts to rig the 2012 presidential election in favor of Barack Obama. Co-signers include Ed Meese, Rush Limbaugh, Jenny Beth Martin, Matt Kibbe, Mark Levin, Laura Ingraham, and Tony Perkins.

“We have never witnessed a more brazen and complete attempt by the media to decide the outcome of a presidential election. For 25 years, the Media Research Center has been documenting liberal media bias daily. During that time, we have covered seven presidential elections including this one. We have never seen it this bad. The media have decided to re-elect Barack Obama and have employed countless distortions, misrepresentations and outright lies as their means to that end,” Bozell said.

“We the undersigned – representing millions of Americans from our respective organizations – are now publicly urging our members to seek out alternative sources of political news in order to make an intelligent, well-informed decision on November 6. It is time the American people turn you who are offending off, once and for all. You have betrayed their trust,” Bozell wrote.

Within that letter the MRC’s News Analysis Division provided a list of the most egregious examples of the media’s lopsided coverage during this election season.

Movement to Media: “You are Rigging this Election”
Over 20 Conservative Leaders including Rush Limbaugh, Ed Meese, Mark Levin and Tony Perkins Call on Public to Tune out the Liberal Media!
Tuesday, September 25, 2012
This election year, so much of the broadcast networks, their cable counterparts, and the major establishment print media are out of control with a deliberate and unmistakable leftist agenda. To put it bluntly: you are rigging this election and taking sides in order to pre-determine the outcome. In the quarter century since the Media Research Center was established to document liberal media bias, there has never been a more brazen and complete attempt by the liberal so-called “news” media to decide the outcome of an election.
A free and balanced media are crucial to the health of this country. It is your duty as journalists – as outlined in the Society of Professional Journalists’ Code of Ethics – to “distinguish between advocacy and news reporting,” while simultaneously “seeking truth and providing a fair and comprehensive account of events and issues.”
There is a reason why the media are viewed with such disdain by the American public, as evidenced by every recent poll on the issue.
You have breached the public trust by willfully turning a blind eye to the government’s public policy failures, both domestic and foreign, while openly and shamefully smearing Gov. Mitt Romney. You are:
 Painting conservative ideas as extreme, while refusing to report the disastrous consequences of liberal programs enacted since 2008.
 Submerging the truly horrendous economic conditions America is facing and focusing only on minor political issues.
 Characterizing conservatives as cruel budget “slashers” instead of responsible officials trying to avoid a debt catastrophe.
 Focusing on alleged shortcomings in Romney’s business record instead of Obama’s record as the chief executive, whose policies contributed to a failed economy.
 Deliberately covering up embarrassing government failures and scandals, including the Solyndra debacle, Fast & Furious, and national security leaks which have put American lives in jeopardy.
 Pouncing on real and perceived missteps by conservatives, portraying them as bumbling incompetents, while suppressing embarrassing and incendiary remarks made by Vice President Joe Biden to prevent him from becoming a liability.
 Portraying conservative opposition to tax hikes as an impediment to deficit
reduction while failing to highlight how liberal tax increase policies will cause
massive damage to the economy and cause the deficit to explode.
 “Fact-checking” conservatives in order to discredit their arguments while
regularly refusing to "fact-check" liberals who are distorting the truth.
We the undersigned – representing millions of Americans from our respective
organizations – are now publicly urging our members to seek out alternative sources of
political news in order to make an intelligent, well-informed decision on November 6.
It is time the American people turn you who are offending off, once and for all. You have
betrayed their trust.
Sincerely,

Hasn't that been answered long ago?....It's obvious to all except those that are involved and of course they deny...

When the civil war breaks out after the election, these mainstream media folks rigging the election will be the first to be tried for war crimes.

Yuck it up. I believe those guys were the same folks Stern interviewed who believed Paul Ryan is an African American running mate of Barack Obama. Doesn't look like any are ready to vote anyhow or find the voting booth at their precinct unless it also involved finding a 40 ounce malt liquor bottle and some weed.

Republicans continue to be painted into a smaller and smaller corner of irrelevance. Science is wrong. The media is all liberal. Liberals are communists. Education is bad. Cutting taxes for the wealthy will help balance the budget.

I suspect that reality is actually rigging this election, hence why republicans have completely divorced themselves from it!

Nothing to see here folks, move along. The media did the same thing in 08 so it's no surprise they are pushing their empty suit to the front of the line. BHO will probably be reelected and after another few years of his inept attempts at pretending to be a President the media will crawl back into their slime holes and wait for their next faux hero. The ill-informed sheeple who help reelect the zombie pres will deny voting for him. They voted for him the first time to prove they aren't "racist" but will vote for him again to prove they really are that stupid.

Tru dat.

Many Republicans live in a rightwing bubble of their own construct, where objective information is unwelcome. They get up in the morning and read rightwing websites, listen to talk radio in the afternoons, and come home in the evenings and watch FAUX News. These people have very clear preconceived ideas, which are never challenged.

And, on November 7, when the election results show the polling was fairly accurate, for them it will not be evidence that their conspiracy theory was wrong. It will be evidence that their conspiracy theory was right, and the evil media successfully manipulated the election.

The next four years could get pretty weird and ugly.

We all know that reality has a well known liberal bias...Colbert.

I guess those signing the letter ignored all the complaints from the conservative columnists and writers who are also pointing out RR's mistakes and changes in policy positions every week. They also had to ignore the wrath of Rush and all the other right wing talkers, the dominance of right wing thought on talk radio and of course F news and all the wing-nut web sites and blogs.

The Republicans were in the white house for 8 years. Bush managed to get elected in spite of the so called liberal press. How do you explain that?

It is encouraging to see that the American voter is seeing through the extreme positions of the Wall Street Party even though the air waves are flooded with anti-Obama ads. It seems as if after a certain point the political market becomes saturated and even tons of money can't buy public opinion and the vote.
You can try to blame the media for rigging the election but that's just a lame excuse. The candidates are weak. Ryan gets boo'd at an AARP convention, an age group supposedly in the bag for the R's. Now that's bad. (for the GOP) and Romney speaks disparagingly of nearly half or the country and you want to blame it on the media? Really?

Particularly since it will be exponentially worse than the last 4 years in the unfortunately likely event BHO is reelected.

it can't be recognized as bias when it's an affirmation of your beliefs... and it's no longer journalism when there is bias.

it is simply propaganda. opinions and editorials are one thing... but we shouldn't know the tilt when events are reported.

You can watch whatever you want to watch. When the FED BUBBLE bursts your holdings in Money Market accounts will lose 10-40% of their worth. Money Market accounts aren't covered by the FDIC. Go figure. Watch your lifetime wealth creation be cut in half.

Meanwhile watch Howard Stern interview informed voters...just for kicks.

I can't quit laughing.................

You got that right..... We should take a poll to see what or who gets blamed for the election results should Obama be re-elected. Surely, he cannot be re-elected fairly and without duplicity, right?

I think it's funny since the republicans have tried every lie and smear they could on Obama and the American public is not falling for it.... so now they're crybabies.

They talk about MEDIA as if Limbaugh, Hannity, The Glenn Beck Program, The Laura Ingraham Show, Batchelor and Alexander and The Radio Factor, Hugh Hewitt, Jon Arthur, Michael Medved, Laura Ingraham, Neal Boortz, Michael Savage, Bill O'Reilly, and Mark Levin are not a part of the broadcast media.
