(CNN) — Some of Hillary Clinton's closest aides, including her longtime adviser Huma Abedin, have provided interviews to federal investigators, as the FBI probe into the security of her private email server nears completion, U.S. officials briefed on the investigation tell CNN. The investigation is still ongoing, but so far investigators haven't found evidence to prove that Clinton willfully violated the law the U.S. officials say.

In recent weeks, multiple aides have been interviewed -- some more than once, the officials said. A date for an FBI interview of Clinton has not been set, these officials said, but is expected in the coming weeks. Abedin has cooperated with the probe, the officials said. Lawyers for Abedin declined to comment. The officials say the interviews of Clinton and her aides would be a routine part of an investigation like this.

The probe remains focused on the security of the server and the handling of classified information and hasn't expanded to other matters, the officials said.

Looks like they're wrapping this thing up finally.

Next will be screams of whitewash.....it is so bone chilling stupid, and the best part is that everybody in the house committees has backed off because they now have trump as their candidate.....talk about jumping from the frying pan into the fire. It always was silly if you understood the elements of the crime......next to impossible to have Hillary guilty of anything unless she truly was a scumbag and was selling state secrets.......why is the first question would she even bother to do the same. No the whole thing depended on stupid people and unproven innuendo.....the delays kept the innuendo alive.....she simply did not break the law, and for all the arguments about a private server being less secure....I say hogwash........

Doesn't matter they will find something else when this fades away.

Yeah,  because, although we don't know for a fact that her server was ever hacked (despite a foreign criminal hacker's unproven claim he did so), we do know for a fact that the State Dept. server -- which Clinton probably should've been using -- WAS hacked.

Bottom line: hogwash is right.

Absolutely. The attacks will never, ever, ever fade away, and the Donald will be right in the middle of the next big boost down the line with what we can only imagine will be his very hateful, misleading or outright lying campaign ads.

Triple hogwash . . . . . and yes the attacks will continue right through her eight years in the Oval Office!

Too funny watching fox this afternoon while getting some sushi. They were arguing that NBC and CNN have intentionally downplayed the email story because Fox has built it up. It was a panel discussion and it was hilarious. Not one factual discussion, but pure innuendo and talking about wiener showing his wiener.......The arrogance to think that news people do not have sources and experts who cannot quickly determine that the entire email controversy was hatched by fox and Republicans as if the same would stop Hillary......now they have Trump.....this is a joyful time.

I noticed that the news on Channel 3 reported the fact that the FBI had conducted interviews, but they seem to have omitted the part where the aides were exonerated...which is why I'm glad I don't expect to get real news from the nightly news.

Wear TV has proven to be very biased and some of the editorials are off the wall.

WEAR once belonged to Clear Channel Communications. That network, later merged or bought-out, was decisively wingnut in it political orientation and did slant its news stories to fit its views.

The stories still seem biased, but one has to remember where we live.   As to the "editorials" seaoat mentioned -- which were unashamedly right wing  - fortunately WEAR discontinued that portion of their "news" broadcasts several years back -- at least I haven't seen any editorial pontificating since then, thank goodness.

"We have previously produced through FOIA and to Congress emails sent and received by Mr. Pagliano during Secretary Clinton's tenure," Trudeau said in a public statement. At least one email, which was sent in November 2012 to Clinton from Pagliano — but possibly from his private email address — was released as part of 30,000 Clinton emails made public by the agency over the past year.
