has anybody treated their yard for fleas?

We are doing some work on a rental house the last three weeks and our dog has gotten fleas. The house is flea free, but the house has a large porch on the back where we have let the dog come in and out of the yard where she is miserable with fleas. We have given her two baths, but fear overdoing it and have heard there might be treatments for yards. Any info will be appreciated.....Wilma will thank you.

I probably should go to Jay to find a feed store, but I will try Hall's in Milton....I love that place. I just got a perfect piece of aluminum strip there to fix a sliding glass door slide where the door has cut into the aluminum frame and is no longer sliding freely. I will ask them Friday before I leave. My wife is staying for the week when I get my shots, and I will have her treat the yard. Lots of feral cats. I will have to show some of our peacocks who visit our yard and wander with the ducks......the other project had a pig.....now we have fleas in the yard and a bunch of female peacocks and a very proud male peacock.....a rooster who crows at about five am, and people in the neighborhood sighting bears from Eglin.......life in Navarre off the beach.

I hate those things- I think I also went to feed store cant remember what I got but someone on here told me what to get and it did work but I cant remember name of it

Years ago, I used Diazinon, but it has been phased out due to toxicity to birds. Found this alternative, which, as is noted, shouldn't be used where it could contaminate water, because it's toxic to fish.

I thought there were fleas in my house, although I only have an outside cat...you won't believe where they originated. My daughter filed an insurance claim after someone hit her car, and the RENTAL CAR had fleas!!! That was Enterprise...we had to drive to Midway, but the agent supplied her with a different car and comped the gasoline tank fill-up. As we were going in the door, my daughter cautioned me, "Let me handle it". Ha. Just because she has seen me go off...but that's the thing...I DON'T lose my temper when people do their jobs, and this agent was young but extremely competent and helpful. However, I have a well deserved rep for not putting up with BS...whether it's business or personal. And I get really incensed when people don't stand up for themselves.
