The neighborhood I live in is where the top arrow is pointing. My wife found this information. Lots of crime on the West Side that we don't hear about. I remember back in the 1990s, some gang wannabes adopted Avondale, and went around removing all of the street signs. They were removed as soon as the were replaced, and the county started then putting back in the old white concrete posts with the street names on them. The gang-bangers were also painting graffiti on any fencing that faced the streets. Eventually, they all either got busted or grew-up and out of being wannabes, as we have not seen that kind of activity since the early 2000s.
