It is good to see the Republican-controlled Senate tackling the most vital legislative issues facing our nation...

Working for the American people??

Screw that!

There's preening and posturing and other buffoonery to get done.

They're a bunch of idiots, I can't imagine what they hope to accomplish with this type of BS.

I see our legislatures are still screwing around with legislation that has absolutely no chance of being signed into law. I do believe they think the people they represent are complete idiots. It's a waste of taxpayer's money for these clowns to put anything together that does not have chance in hell to pass.

They do not need to repeal anything it is falling apart with the help of United Healthcare.

Had the pleasure of helping someone on the forum yesterday and I was telling her UHC changed their agents commission contract two weeks into open enrollment cutting it in half. Got home last night and went on the insurance forums and UHC did the unthinkable, cut it again to ZERO for on exchange business beginning Jan 1. Don't think those agents will be helping anyone with exchange plans anymore and this is one step closer to UHC pulling all their plans off exchange. Not to mention most other company's are either at 1 to 3% or a flat fee which is normally under $100 for an application.

All the large insurance company's are losing hundred's of million's of dollar's, the one's that are public company's are taking heat from their director's and stock holder's. It's only a matter of time before it falls apart on it's own, no taxpayer wasted legislation is needed. No one from the President down must pay attention to what is going on.

This bit of quackery makes perfect sense if view it from the correct perspective: Desperately seeking Armageddon and instant rapture, the fundamentalist-propelled republican party decided to add millions of poor people who need healthcare to their burgeoning list of people who won't vote republican in the coming elections.

Reality. LOL

Well obamacare has ruined the whole system, I just don't see how the republican's or dems can fix this. It will take many years or yes roll into some public system. At any rate the agent assistance is just about dead as far as obamacare goes.

Yep, you can't take away, even from the conservative voter's who are receiving a tax credit and expect to get elected.

Ya... free shit sells.

Until you run out of free shit. See: portugal, greece, italy, spain... etc.

You could even throw in russia and china... they haven't adapted because they were sick of utopia.

Just more Congress wasting time on political gestures that they know will never be passed into law. And before anybody goes all partisan on it, let me just say Democrats are as guilty of this as Republicans.

Sometimes I think Congress should only be allowed to pass new legislation during one session of every four. And they should be required to spend one of the other three sessions doing nothing but repealing legislation. Each legislator should be required to punch a time clock every day they are in sessions & be docked triple their salary for that day if the do not attend or check out before the day's session is officially closed. The remaining two sessions they can spend formulating new & revised legislation, giving their blustering speeches, having committee hearings, etc etc

I'll admit you have a point. There are some benefits to government gridlock.

You simply can't admit that it is a failure of massive proportions. For someone like you, it must be excruciating to see so many of your dreams for a Socialist Country collapsing in ruin before your very eyes.

If that wasn't bad enough, the results of the massive, Progressive failures having been forecast precisely by we Conservatives must be excruciatingly painful.

The pain is considerably stronger for people who would glory over millions of Americans losing their healthcare. Your ouch will come loud and clear after the next elections.

I'm not necessarily down on everything Planned Parenthood does ... or even them getting MedicAid funds for some of the services they provide.

But ..... the thing that really annoys/hacks me about Planned Parenthood is how they seem to think and act as thought they are entitled to taxpayer funds ... like they are an actual government agency or something.  And without question.

It's this attitude PP & liberals have about it that's reason enough in and of itself to cut off their funding if you ask me.  Even if just for a little while.   Just to show 'em ... you're not necessarily entitled to that money.  You're not special.  You're just another health care provider receiving government reimbursement for services provided like thousands of other health care providers ... and as subject to question/scrutiny as any other.

Were I the CEO of Planned Parenthood, I would have long ago split the abortion counseling/services function off into a separate agency with a separate budget and a different name from the other health-services PP provides and asked the Pro-Choice crowd to fund it .... since those services are ineligible for government funding anyway .... and avoided all this controversy over government funding.   But I guess that wouldn't serve some people's political agenda?

Dang it! Now I'm off the rez again. Hands up, don't shoot! Laughing

Let's take your logic to a new plateau: A single mom has an infant with terrible asthma. Clearly this pair should suffer rather than be helped by a program like Obamacare. If Mom can't afford medical care, we should let the little bastard die! You republicans are truly creepy.

False equivalence... they would've been eligible for medicaid. Obamacaid is basically another redistributive program.

So Medicaid isn't a freebie? LOL
