Obama supporters were hit Wednesday with an email entitled: Got a spare couch or bed? The campaign has officially reached out to is faithful, asking them to open up their private residences to the nomadic workers who will be laboring for the Obama re-election effort through November.

The odd request begins by asking the Obama supporter to give up their privacy to some “dedicated organizers”:

“Ben –
Some great folks we know are looking for a friendly place to stay.
A group of the most dedicated organizers and volunteers will be coming to Northern Virginia for the remaining weeks of the campaign. They heard we’re looking to run a fierce ground game for President Obama this fall — and they want to be a part of it.
But here’s the thing: They need somewhere to stay. And I’m hoping you can lend them a hand with that.”

The pitch continues by describing that the migrating workers won’t ask you for much:

The folks who are coming won’t ask for much. Many of them will gladly sleep on a comfy couch or an air mattress, or in a small spare room you might have.

What is the potential reimbursement for the housing? Apparently story-time. The email describes the great tales you will hear about the “energy” the Obama workers are “sparking”:

I bet they‘ll come back at night with some amazing stories about the people they’ve reached and the energy they’re sparking — stories that you otherwise might not get to hear.

A click through on the link provided sends the couch volunteerism to a special landing page on the Official Obama campaign site. There you are asked if you could potentially host “4 or more” campaign workers “up to the election.”

The request en masse is certainly a unique campaign move that begs some serious questions: Why wouldn’t the Obama Campaign want to stimulate the struggling economies of swing states by purchasing lodging? What background guarantee would a supporter have before a strange campaign worker moves in? Who pays for food? Is there a legal or medical liability under a homeowners agreement between a private citizen and a presidential campaign? The Obama camp in Virginia has been contacted by the Blaze, check back for updates.

Bring home a President Obama backed OWS volunteer too. What could go wrong?

Well, guys you are now reading a post from a person who housed a campaign worker for Obama during the 2008 campaign.
Nate was a pleasant young man and we enjoyed having him stay with us. Why not let people like us who have space and want to support the campaign offer up a guest room?
I would say it is part of a team spirit, you know, that idea that we're all in this together?
It must have worked well during the campaign for his first term so why not offer to let people become part of his campaign for his second term?

go ahead and do it.

will your obama campaign take responsibility when someone gets raped or robbed?

probaly not. They dont take responsibility for anything else and no one makes em, so your most likely in the clear.
