It turns out that our favored "rebels" in Syria just traded the billions in arms we provided them to al Quada and Isis.

This, in addition to the news that at a cost of several millions, we were able to equip and train up a total of "4 or 5" troops to toss into the fray.

Let's face the truth: We haven't the foggiest idea what to do in Syria -- our bombing campaign has succeeded in driving millions of Syrians out of their country, and Assad is no weaker now than he was three years ago.

The truth is Putin has it right, and we don't. If Assad should fall, Syria will become another failed state run by militia groups, ISIS, al Qaeda, etc. Same as Iraq Yeah Assad is a bad guy -- but he's the legitimate head of state there and if he falls, it will be the same as it was for us when Saddam fell .... in simple terms WE WILL LOSE EVERYTHING ONCE AGAIN.

What's next, we fight Russians in Syria in our ongoing efforts to overthrow Assad, with absolutely zero American impact on what would follow?

Reality.

The Soviets and now Russians have had strong historic ties to Syria. They put troops there in 1973, and made it clear to America and Israel that Syria was off limits. So Israel and Saudi Arabia fermented the Syrian Civil War, (see Putin interview on 60 minutes) and nation states of Syria and Iraq are no longer threats to the Saudis or Israelis, and somebody thinks this was not our foreign policy goal for almost forty years since 1973? Like 1973, the Russians are saying enough America, Israel, and Saudi Arabia.....we will not let you continue any further in the destruction of the Nation state of Syria. This has never been difficult to understand in historical context and who the players are now. What I find most amusing is the news medias lack of history and their conclusion that our Syria policy failed.......sadly it succeeded, and as Putin said last night on 60 minutes, they have all the people who were supporting the overthrow of the Ukraine regime change.....and surprise our hands are not clean there, but of course, we are failing there to......too funny, America and its allies can do bad things and this myth that we are not actively participating in regime change is hilarious.

Obama doesn't know what he wants to do and who he wants to do it with. That has been the hallmark of his FP from the start. He ended Iraq and bragged, but now we have 3500 plus boots on ground propping up the unstable govt he contributed in making with his early withdrawal before job was done. Oh and there were 71 people who trained with Ayad and turned over weapons to the enemy
