I'm off the fence on this one. I applaud the Semi-retired, COWH, Muslim, Commie, Antichrist Obama on this. And I oppose virtually every republican politician and media type on it.

What this will do is start the transfer of ideas and cultures. And one of the American ideas that will become better known to Cubans, is they've been living under an outright dictatorship.
Those young Cubans aint gonna like that. And that's when the dictatorship will go by the wayside.

I must have been sleeping the past 50 years I never heard of a terrorist in Cuba.

It's either a bit strange or pathetic that a devout Christian can't forgive, but what do we even have to forgive them for? Did they attack the U.S.? Again I must have been sleeping through the war we had with them. Being communist? Not thinking like us? I guess once hatred is passed down from generation to generation and no one has questioned one generation they have been brainwashed. Indoctrination at it's best.

It was because of communism.  Our parent's generation,  the WW2 generation,  REALLY had a hard on about communism.  
Remember,  they were so obsessed with communism that they sent off 58,000 of our own to be sacrificed by ending up face down in the rice paddys over it.
I'm surprised they stopped with only an embargo when it came to Cuba.  If Butchmeup had been president then,  they'd have invaded and conquered the place. Like Grenada. lol

Now we have open socialists... which marx made clear was the path to communism. The part that is ignored is that control is effective ownership. It's no longer necessary for the State to own all... that was the agrarian model. In an industrial/technological model fascism works much better.

The end is the same.

You really do not understand the communist dialectic if you think socialism was espoused as a transition to communism.  It was the failure of socialism which made the dialectic the basis of communism.  Ignorance of political theory on this forum is rampant. Please read.

All the right-wing media emphasis is on only Castro and the commies.
But none of the emphasis (outside the scenes in "The Godfather") has been put on the Cuban history which led up to Castro and the commies.
It's a fascinating history of American mobsters and their Cuban flunky Batista stealing all the money.

It mirrors what happened to Iran after the U.S. government deposed it's leader leading up to the 1979 revolution there.

We are citizens of the world's newest "empire". And no empire in history has failed to collapse with time.

What the hell ideas do we need from a pissant island nation and we have all the Cuban culture we need in South Florida. Nice try, but America gains nothing but a vacation spot and Cuba gets an economic boost for it.
