CLEVELAND — Jeb Bush, who has described himself as a “joyful” campaigner, may have accidentally laid bare his campaign’s planned attacks against his top GOP rivals.
In the hours before the second, prime-time GOP debate featuring Bush and the other top nine Republican contenders, Bush’s campaign inadvertently posted pages featuring bullet points contrasting his own record with that of Scott Walker and Marco Rubio.

Those pages have since been taken down.
The page titled “Jeb Bush v. Marco Rubio” (screen-grabbed by a DNC staffer) includes the following factoids about the first-term Florida senator: “Marco Rubio has sponsored just one bill that has become law”; “Rubio has sponsored only two bills that have passed the Senate”; “Rubio has the highest rate of missed votes of any senator over the course of his career.”
The nearly identical page focused on Walker says “the only job Scott Walker cares about creating is his own.”
Interspersed between bullet points highlighting Bush’s economic record during two terms as Florida governor are the following points about Walker: Wisconsin Ranked Last In The Midwest In Job Growth And Broke His Pledge To Create 250,000 Jobs In His First Term; “Scott Walker’s Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation Has Been Marred By Scandal—Including Unpaid Loans And Taxpayer Funds Spent On Alcohol, iPads, College Football Tickets, And Even A Maserati”; and “Scott Walker Has Pushed State Debt Payments Into The Future And Reduced The Earned Income Tax Credit.”

Asked to explain the posts, Bush’s spokesman, Tim Miller, said in email that the pages were: “Draft pages that were taken down, we have lots of material to prepare for the debate as circumstances require.”
The accidental posting comes two days after another high-profile gaffe by Bush himself that drew criticism from many conservatives, including Carly Fiorina, who questioned Bush’s abilities as a competent campaigner in the earlier GOP debate here Thursday night featuring the seven lowest polling candidates.
