"President Barack Obama is preparing to do what the U.S. economic recovery has been slow to accomplish: raise the wages of millions of Americans.

His administration is drafting new rules on who qualifies for overtime compensation, forcing more businesses to pay time-and-a-half after 40 hours of work. Many employees now earning as little as $23,660 a year — below the federal poverty line for a family of four — aren’t entitled to overtime pay because they are considered managers. "

Will the GOP support these workers?

you take a job with a salary or hourly wqges... It's your choice. I work far more hours in my job than is called for and ill never see a dime of overtime

But I knew that when I said yes to being hired. It was my choice.

When your salary falls below the poverty level and is used as a ploy to avoid overtime, then you do not have a choice. President Obama is leveling the playing field by allowing this common practice of labor exploitation to have a minimum wage impact.........Pace chooses to take the easy path where a feudal system of heritage and inheritance over merit and talent exploits Americans....nope....we have had enough of exploitation by the Oligarchy.....America has been stolen, and Americans want their country back.

We are still waiting for the right to tell us how and in which ways the economy will improve even more than it has under Obama, should they win in 2016. Their silence thus-far is earsplitting.....

The best part is that they deny the economic miracle......they simply are silent on the economy. It is just too funny. All these pro business folks are going to do what for America.......sorry, America has it figured out.....special interests and the highest bidder is not the same as true economic growth.

Yeah..... Their answer for improving the American economy is starting another war in the Middle East; this time against Iran. Like that is really going to be helpful to our bottom line. Especially when Iran closes the Straits of Hormuz to seaborne tanker traffic and sends the price of oil upward 5X what it is currently sold for.

Must be for you as you appear to be deaf there are so many ways semi-retired President Obama has crushed the economy.  Simply lift the burdens he has placed on workers and employers.

Here is an easy way, pass one of his executive orders removing the minimum wage.

Many employees"...specifically how MANY employees are earning as little as $23,660 and have a family of four? How many of those are the only worker in their household?

Here is your demand visually so it is easier for you to grasp.

I'm pretty sure everyone recognizes that we have a problem of income inequality in this country. We have a good idea of some of the ways the democrats would like to address the problem. Conservatives on this forum oppose these ideas.
What are republicans proposing to do about it? If you don't know, then what do you suggest should be done about it?

Answer the question please or admit you have no clue of what you are talking about.

The correct answer is 564,392 workers.

Note how Semi-sane "I know NOSSING!" Markle is on board with his fascist corporate bosses to arrange the law so that workers won't get paid anything at all.

It's good to know your enemies!

Proving, once again, you know nothing about Capitalism. Keep up the good work along with your wonderfully predictable childish slurs. That's okay, I realize that is all you have left.
