The original Pledge of Allegiance was modified to include the words "under God" .... and Atheist students are forced by public schools to take the Pledge.

But the times they are a'changin!

You have to stand, but you don't have to recite it anymore

Why do students "have to stand," for the pledge?  If an Atheist is forced to stand, that sends the message that he or she respects or honors everything in the pledge, including the "under God" statement.

Why not just remove the God statement and the problem would be eliminated?
