"The shocking nature of the South Carolina shooting, so vividly captured on the video, ought to put police departments on the same side with the protesters who are demanding change. Everyone would benefit from less suspicion and fear. Everyone shares an interest in better training and technology to reduce the number of times the gun comes out of the holster. Everyone would be happier in a climate of trust among police and the public. No matter who you are, if you’ve seen Walter Scott gunned down, you now know what the problem looks like. Senseless and tragic, it is nonetheless a step toward solutions."

Is this really going to be the time that everyone will recognize the need for change?

Change will happen when the culture of cop hating stops.

What is your point??

That cops should shoot first during traffic stops because they might be in danger?

A cop never knows who they will encounter....

So, police should treat all citizens as potential enemy combatants ...

... I think you've zeroed in on why we find ourselves in the current situation.

Sal, when was last time you called the cops and then surprised them with a steak cookout instead of a domestic violence situation ?

A cop never knows who they will encounter....

Yes, and a citizen never knows what kind of cop he will encounter.

And what are the percentages of bad cop to violent criminals?

100%.......if you do not correct what is around you....you buy into it, and you now are the problem. Until there is real substantive change, it remains 100%.

I know more great cops than bad cops, but even the best cop goes along to get along.....to do otherwise is to be strident and ineffective. No it is time for good cops to take the lead to make changes.

Sal, when was last time you called the cops and then surprised them with a steak cookout instead of a domestic violence situation ?

You want Sal to get arrested for calling in a Domestic and then "surprising" the officers with a steak dinner......you are totally off the reservation and have become a quasi militarized robot who is losing any higher level thought.

You have posted some foolish things in the past but that one beats most. 100% of cops are bad?

This is a foolish conversation. It's racist and foolish.
