Two things are amazing about this. One, that it aint even heavy traffic. You can see from the timing that those vehicles were spaced pretty far apart on the roadway before hitting the pileup.

And two, that we actually got to witness a video of something like this because it now seems like every fricking human being everywhere has a cellphone video camera.

It ended up being 193 vehicles.

Incredible that only one person was killed and about a dozen injured.

One vehicle was a truck loaded with fireworks that exploded and set fire to several other vehicles.

And again, thanks to cellphone video cameras, we can see that too.
It starts at the 1:22 point on the time counter.

There were little squalls of white out condition's Bob. Even though it looked clear as one of those semi's hit another one, he probably just came out of a blinding squall. Sometime's they only last for minute's and then some can last a lot longer. There was also a pile up on US 23 between Ann Arbor and Milan, Mi same day, not as many involved though.

It looks like the conditions made it impossible to avoid because I don't see any oncoming vehicle able to stop in time.
Of course an old southern boy like me knows how to avoid it. Stay down south in the winter. lol

I wonder what kind of insurance clusterfuck results from something like this? Lordy.

Actually I have to eat my words on that. I just remembered that 100 car pileup on the Mobile Bayway caused by fog a few years ago.
