The oligarchy exported American industry to China and got a bonus along with access to cheap labor: no environmental regulation. Now the Chinese must choose between economic growth unhinged, or start regulating polluters.
If the air pollution is bad, you know their water pollution is worse. And I would imagine they have thousands of superfund site equivalents scattered throughout their lands.
Looks like they need the assistance of American environmental cleanup experts, too. It would not be far-fetched to see my last employer opening an office in China to help them get started on the cleanups. They are decades behind where we are.
