Once again my Socialist/Communist good friends are grasping at anything possible to save face for their failing beliefs.

Governor Rick Perry Indicted for Abuse of Power by Lunatic Alcoholic.

My Socialist/Communist good friend Wordslinger posted about this but...conveniently...again...left out the relative details. The desperation of Progressives is becoming palpable.

Here, let me help you.

Meet the Progressive DA Texas Governor Rick Perry Wanted Removed from the Public Integrity Unit

THIS is why she was denied for the money she requested.

Again, legal concepts are not your strong hand. First, the governor could have vetoed the money for the special prosecutors, and even said that the conduct of the SA was a black eye on the state of Texas. You imply that this is why he has been indicted. It is not.

He has been indicted because he attempted to coerce the SA to voluntarily resign, and threatened to veto the bill if she did not leave. He was using his power of veto not to veto because she was a black eye on Texas, but to coerce her from office which is illegal.......and clearly illegal. Please either read things carefully, or use your words properly. No doubt the indictment has an element of political, but the legal portion is correct and in fact the governor has broken the law.

Virtually every other official in the country demanded that she resign and she refused. The Governor did the right thing. Were he a Democrat, you'd be saying the exact same thing if this alcoholic SA was a Republican.

Not only did he threaten to withhold funding for the Public Integrity Unit...he actually cut off funding. And this is not because of a DWI...but because there was a separate investigation into the subsidies he was giving to corporations to move their operations into the state. I don't doubt that he harassed this DA relentlessly...before her arrest. Once the rock is turned over, the critters will scatter like the vermin they are.

That's his authority.

This DA should not be in office. Even you must be embarrassed that she is a Democrat. Did you notice, when she was arrested she even had an open bottle of vodka in the front seat.

The DA did and maybe does have alcohol problems, I grant you that. And she should have resigned or been removed from office. As things stand, Mr. "I can't remember the third one .." Perry, will have to spend an inordinate amount of his time defending himself from the charges, and his presidential aspirations now match those of Chris Christy.

Herr Markle, maybe your team can run Herman Cain again? LOL

If it was within his authority, he wouldn't be facing criminal charges. Where's the emoticon for idiot?

As far as this brouhaha is concerned relating to Perry's possible Presidential run it is a moot point . . . . he has as much chance as Sarah Palin or . . . . . well pick one yourself . . . . the lineup is full of idiots!

It is not sketchy, and it is not a stretch. Sadly, it is a lay down. If Governor Perry wanted the SA out of office, there is a procedure for doing that......its called impeachment, and the Republican majority would have no problem getting articles of impeachment for the SA conduct. Whether they would have gotten a conviction is a different story.

The criminal indictment is for coercion and threats to do something she legally did not have to do.....which was resign, and the threat was the veto. Sadly, impeachment, and a simple veto would not have been criminal. Is this political. Well most governmental prosecutions ALWAYS have an element of political, and the Northern District of Illinois prosecutors have been Republicans prosecuting Democrats for thirty years.......but guess what......the political means squat when somebody has broken the law. Rick Perry broke the law. He sounds just like Governor Rod right now....political prosecution......and when he got acquitted the first time he strutted around telling everybody it was a political prosecution......when the jury found him guilty....he took a different tone with the sentencing judge......listen to Perry's tone when he is sentenced.

Laughing? None of your infamous three will ever successfully run for a public office again. Now who's laughing?

The Perp walk for Governor Perry was a bit different than the perp walk for Governor Rod.......they came to Rod's house and put handcuffs on him......Perry walked into his booking. At the time Rod said it was pure politics, and the arrest was a complete political lynching, but the Jury disagrees.

As I listened to Rod and Perry, they both acted like they were still in charge.....big awakening coming for Perry. Rod spouted off like a banty rooster as his first defense team resigned and he was only found guilty on one count........his attitude changed at his sentencing hearing.........my bet is mirror images at sentencing.

Can you imagine the GOP reaction to this story if the governor were a democrat?  I suspect the entire front page of the Politics section would be flooded with thread after thread about this.

In my mind it's much ado about nothing. The drunk woman should have lost her job and Perry never had a chance at winning a general election anyways.
