“In the individual market, this type of average rate increase is typical,” he told Kaiser Health News. “It’s is not aberrant.”

It certainly isn't across the broad spectrum of insurance company's, this is the largest increase I've seen for 2015. It also didn't help the state of Florida gave insurer's card blanc for two year's with their rate increases.

Just the push needed for Medicare for all........

Medicare for all if ever is year's away, what are the people going to do that really needed the subsidy to obtain insurance? Hell even the one's that were close to receiving a subsidy and bought with the hopes the increase would be low. They certainly will not be able to afford an increase like this. Any increase in enrollment in 2015 will be offset by the cancellation's.

Insurance policies are going to be too overpriced to purchase or keep which will lead to people dropping them and telling the government officials to take their mandate and stick it in their south ends.

When that happens I wouldn't want to be the low man on the totem pole who has to go out and attempt to enforce the law.

From your link:

"...The Republican-dominated Florida legislature last year suspended the state’s power to review health insurers’ rates to make sure they were actuarially sound. It left that job to federal officials who run the online insurance exchange that Florida uses. The federal government, though, has no authority to force insurers to lower insurance rates..."

Democrats say Florida stripped insurance commissioner of power to set health plan rates

Florida Blue to raise rates an average of 17.6% for 2015 Rulings%2Ftom-true

"Florida lawmakers have left the state vulnerable to unreasonably high insurance premiums in an effort to undermine Obamacare, say the state’s U.S. House Democrats.

Gov. Rick Scott and the Legislature cynically stripped Florida of its ability to review rates for the law’s rollout, U.S. Rep. Ted Deutch writes in a letter signed by all 10 of the state’s Democratic representatives.

The letter, which appeals to the federal government to step in on Floridians’ behalf, blames a law Scott signed at the end of May for refusing to allow the state insurance commissioner to "negotiate lower rates with companies or refuse rates that are too high."

It asks the U.S. Health and Human Services Department to "protect Florida consumers — since Gov. Scott, the Florida Legislature and Insurance Commissioner (Kevin) McCarty will not."

Did the governor and state legislators prevent the insurance commissioner from negotiating lower rates and refusing high ones?..."

2seaoat and ppaca want Socialized Healthcare yet they never have a method to PAY for the same.  So typical of our friends the Socialists.

Where will this money come from?  Please don't say the "RICH", they don't have anywhere NEAR this much money.

Current Debt . . . $17.2 TRILLION

Unfunded Liabilities (money we have PROMISED, do not have, nor do we have it coming in)

Social Security. . . . $16.6 TRILLION (10,000 Baby Boomers RETIRE EVERY DAY)  (How many workers are entering the job market daily?)

Prescription Drugs .$22.0 TRILLION

Medicare. . . . . . . . $87.5 TRILLION

Total Unfunded Liabilities $126.2 TRILLION!

Number of Households in 2010 = 112,611,029

Unfunded Liability Per Taxpayer  $1,101,203.00

http://www.usdebtclock.org/index.html

PLUS ObamaCare and Untold TRILLIONS more in TAXES

Since far left radical House Speaker Nancy Pelosi took office in January 1, 2007 our debt has increased by $12+ TRILLION.

Humorous but of no meaning. Crooks and Liars know well the how to twist the statistics and mean nothing.

And yet, nothing you said mentioned one word about how you were going to PAY for your dream world.

How can Romney-Ryan add more in debt since they aren't even in any office or did you accidentally add that from your copy and paste?

Try again,

Where will this money come from? Please don't say the "RICH", they don't have anywhere NEAR this much money.

No he cannot. He can cut and paste. It is funny. The richest country in the world cannot do what all other countries are doing in the world and Mr. Markle posts absurd numbers which basically say that Americans must die without healthcare because it cannot be a priority. Sorry Mr. Markle we can easily afford Medicare for all because it will SAVE us money and reduce the deficit. It however will require a 3% sales tax on consumption.........but then again when you are a shill for the insurance companies, you post the same false cut and paste over and over again.......drug costs in your cut and paste are grossly overstated, and the 17 trillion deficit is just what Mr. Cheney said.....they do not matter, so you will probably be gone, but in the next eight years we will see medicare for all.

FT, you lie about Obama cutting taxes. If that were
The case them why was a record 1.9 trillion in tax collected in the last year? Why didn't he continue the Bush tax cuts? When those tax cuts expired and he did not renew them, well TAXES got raised. It's simple math.

I do not lie. Obama should have called for an end to the Bush tax cuts when he took office and not waited. But he apparently thought then that he was dealing with rational people who actually had the country's best interests at heart. The Bush tax cuts were heavily weighted to favor the rich, not middle class citizens, although, as with everything else, Bush LIED.

Hey! No problem. We'll just nationalize the health care industry and put all the doctors and nurses on the government/military pay scale. Doctors start out at O-1 to O-2 pay and nurses start at E-4 to E-5 pay...

Do you think they'd look better in camouflage or khaki's?

They can kiss that couple million dollar summer home on the lake with the jet ski's for each of the kids goodbye because...

Heavily weighed for the rich my arse. I started paying almost 300 more a month when all that expired.
