Bizarre story of the day: Warren Buffet bitching because less carnage on the highways will cost him profits

“That is a real threat to the auto insurance industry,” Buffett said at his company’s annual meeting here Saturday. “If [self-driving cars] prove successful and reduce accidents dramatically, it will be very good for society and very bad for auto insurers.”

What's bizarre about that?

He's spot-on correct.

Not to mention body shops...

Okay so I was being a little facetious.  

Actually the lesson here is this is just another example of how advances in technology are dramatically changing our society and it's being felt in the business world as much as anywhere.
It's having the effect of literally killing some of our most established business institutions.
Before this it was the daily newspapers.  And if this thing proves successful,  now it will be the insurance companies.
And probably one day it will kill the oil companies as well.

I just cant wait for our future.
