Score one for the Prez ....

The announcement marks a diplomatic and logistical milestone. Never before has a country's entire chemical arsenal been removed from its borders, and now the most lethal chemicals are set to be destroyed aboard a U.S. ship at sea. Still, some clouds hang over the announcement. Under a U.S.-Russian agreement reached last year, all 1,290 metric tons of chemicals were to be destroyed by June 30. With the final batch removed only Monday, that final destruction could take four additional months.

Three months ago fighting in Syria made it too difficult to get to them. They were not even 10 percent done.

Good... I hope it's true. Putin is behind him tho... I don't think he'll be going anywhere anytime soon.

Next time they tell you they are destroying anything at sea

We aren't taking the Russian's word for anything, idiot.

A watchdog group from the Hague is overseeing the transport and destruction.

Other than brokering the deal, Russia has had very little to do with it.

The Syrians transported it under the UN's watch, it is being transferred to Norwegian and Danish ships for transport, and will ultimately be destroyed and disposed of on American vessels.

Does that include the ones moved there by Saddam Hussein in the years leading up to the invasion of Iraq?
