Since 2000, the middle class has shrunk in size, fallen backward in income and wealth, and shed some—but by no means all—of its characteristic faith in the future.

These stark assessments are based on findings from a new nationally representative Pew Research Center survey that includes 1,287 adults who describe themselves as middle class, supplemented by the Center’s analysis of data from the U.S. Census Bureau and Federal Reserve Board of Governors.

It's a good idea. It's just more difficult now.

Maybe electing a 1%er would help the middle class... NOT..
I don't like welfare or warfare, they're both destroying our country..
That's why we need Ron Paul..

I hear donald trump and ron are going to announce running as independents this weekend.

and im starting to wonder if striving to be middle class is really worth it as you said. Im starting to view myself as a slave to the gov. where your either a slave owner, slave(middle working class), or a peasant who has taken thier rightful place in this society ( welfare recipients).

Ron Paul would force a deep depression with his draconian budget cuts. The man's on the right track on some issues, like the need to dissolve the Federal Reserve, but would also take a sledgehammer to the economy and do away with even more regulation. He's a free-marketer like the rest of them; he's (possibly) just more honest about it. He's also nutty as a fruitcake.

20% of Americans in the last year had at least one day where they couldn't afford food.

However, we are headed for a much deeper and larger depression if the status-quo keeps going. Whoever gets elected in 2016 is likely going to face a crisis not seen since FDR was president. The economy could start crashing well before then, however. All the fundamentals for the crash have aligned or are aligning (2008 was nothing compared to what is coming).

If the economy doesn't totally crash, we are going to see inflation like we haven't seen in decades. That is hitting us now, in fact. The government lies about true inflation, as this is to the government's advantage. Heck, you can't feed two people at McDonalds for under $10 these days....
