Will our, and other nations, athletes be safe at the Sochi Olympic Winter Games?

Personally I can't imagine what the Olympic Committee was thinking when they put the Olympic games in the heart of a know hotbed of terrorists.

Currently there are four, possibly three, radical women Islamists committed to being suicide bombers already in Sochi or seeking access.

I believe we should participate, I'm not suggesting we pull out as was done by President Jimmy Carter.

Will they be safe? Why or why not?

I think there is a good chance something very bad will happen. It has got to be harder to provide security when you've got so many people from different countries, spread out in different locations. I don't think we should go but I don't want the terrorists to win. It should be up to the athletes.

It's Chechens who are making the threats and have used female suicide bombers in the past. There are ways of picking them out even in a crowd, but it is manpower heavy and remember that the terrorist only had to be right once. ISR has to be right every time. Bomb sniffing dogs and equipment should be rampant there in that location. It doesn't end well for anyone if the terrorists attack. Russians have a scorched Earth policy in regards to those events.

I hate using Wikipedia, but here is a down and dirty example of what Russians will do to terrorists. They don't play and apologize either.
